With its active gameplay, funky music and slightly dangerous controller, the Nintendo Wii provides many a nostalgic throwback. Perhaps one of the most important of these fond memories was its Miis, the digital avatars that lived in its mini-universe and almost all of its games.

Although users created a number of memorable inhabitants to the Miiverse, there were still plenty of iconic premade characters too. One of the most memorable of these is Matt Mii — a Wii Sports legend so powerful his fame has lasted far beyond the relevance of the console itself. You may never have been able to beat him in the boxing ring, but at least you can pay your respects by appreciating the memes made in his honor.
