It's funny how human culture works. What was scandalous yesterday becomes delightfully quaint today, what was once incomprehensibly avant garde becomes predictable and clichéd, and what was once a propagandistic tool for spreading racist ideology and Hitler worship becomes the benign stuff of childrens' cartoons. Oh yes friends that's right: I've found some Hitler in our pony. Come with me and I'll show you the story of how a scene from a piece of classic Nazi propaganda found its way into your favorite television show about butts ponies.

Exhibit A

This is a scene from Triumph of the Will, a documentary by Leni Riefenstahl about the Nazi rally at Nuremburg circa 1934. This film was a huge hit and is largely responsible for defining the Nazi aesthetic that we're all familiar with. While unapologetically propagandistic and much reviled for its associations with the Nazi party, Triumph of the Will broke a lot of new ground artistically and technically speaking and occupies an important place in the history of film. It often finds its way onto lists of the best films of all time and has been studied and emulated by later filmmakers.

In the selected scene, Hitler marches with Heinrich Himmler and Viktor Lutze to pay their respects at a World War One memorial. Notice the triangular formation they walk in and the thousands of SA and SS men standing attention to either side of them. Notice the way all the soldiers turn in unison at the end of the scene.

Exhibit B

This is the final scene from Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope. Now George Lucas studied Triumph of the Will and took a lot of the fascist aesthetic in order to tell his space opera. Here we can see him doing direct homage to the memorial scene. Notice how Han, Luke, and Chewie walk in the same formation as Hitler, Himmler, and Lutze. Notice the lines of soldiers to either side of the procession and notice how they do the same concerted turn as the Nazis.

Exhibit C

This is the final scene from Season 2 Episode 2 of mlp where, after having defeated Discord, a ceremony is held in honor of the mane six. As you can see from the many similarities, this scene is doing homage to the medal ceremony from Star Wars in just the same way the medal ceremony from Star Wars does homage to Triumph of the Will, and many of the original stylistic elements from Triumph transits directly through Star Wars into pony. Notice how the columns of 'soldiers' are preserved and how the mane six are walked in pairs of the triangle formation originally used by Hitler and his cronies.

Exhibit D

@Alicorns
I'd laugh so hard if this actually happened. That one Oprah gif would actually be prophetical.

@Godwins Law
I thought you were going to mention Ride of the Valkyries , which was used in several editions of Die Deutsche Wochenschau (German war news reels) That scene in Apocalypse Now? That was taken from those war reels. And, of course, tying into ponies:

@butt club
why wasn't I invited to this plot party?

@mods
and what happened to hard nosed moderation, complaining about clop not tagged, downvoting of those that post it, banning me for less, and saying this thread/community would be better without me?

do I see the true nature of this community?

@Alicorns
They're at it again!

Why must they torture us so?!
Why-

LAAAAAARSOOOOOOON!

@Ghost Rider
"It's said that Equestria was built on legends. Tall tales that help us make sense of things too great or too terrifying to believe. This is the legend of the Ghost Scooter."

Yeah, I had to go look up Ghost Rider quotes to parody because I know zilch about it and just wanted to post some cool Scootaloo…

@Hitler
Explanation: It's all a very complicated scheme to essentially reverse-troll back through time.
<div class=spoiler title="Oh, Hitler…">

It's fun to think that if Hitler were somehow able to see how he is so frequently parodied, mocked, and hated nowadays, that it would piss him off to no end.

Joking aside, it is pretty interesting.
Essentially, it's just a film-making technique crafted to convey certain feelings that was simply popularized a near-universally reviled figure.
Doesn't mean that the technique is not effective or useful so it makes sense that it would pop up again once the original context has faded into history a bit.

Anybody interested in talking about this?

The sudden appearance of a fourth Pie sister!
One of the MLP books in which Pinkie's family comes to visit actually does reference her existence, though it stops short of giving her a name, just saying that she is the oldest Pie sister who is 'keeping an eye on the farm' while the rest are away.

Commence headcanoning!
<div class=spoiler title="Option 1:">

The Black Sheep:

Sometimes the happiest ponies can be the most cruel…

<div class=spoiler title="Option 2:">

The Lost Pie:

Everyone loves a little creepy in their pony, right?
I also like how this gives the 'keeping an eye on the farm' line from the book a subtly tragic connotation.

I'm personally partial to Option 2 myself!

In all reality, I'm betting that this little retcon is being set up now for a payoff later.
I mean, why would they purposely design a new character that contradicts a previous scene just to place her in a still photograph?
They wouldn't do that extra work for no reason, so I have to assume we will be seeing Pinkie be reunited with her family sometime this season!
Yay!

And now for something completely different!

@Vaz

Well nobody is really complaining. If it's not bothering anyone, I'll let it slide. So I guess some of the more serious hard-liners that you encountered aren't really paying attention here or have stopped caring

Then again, people are just posting butts. Not necessarily porn. Pretty sure none of these butts count as clop, even by your books

But clop definitely still requires tags

I don't care.

Your assessment isn't really correct, because true clop isn't allowed on-site period, the rules aren't just for people who post so a lack of complaints is a bad reason to not intervene (remember one of the arguments about why "Twilight Sparkle and the Deathly Hasbro" was a bad title? RM brought that point up. The site has a lot more likes on Facebook than we have active posting users,) and anything more than suggestive (loose definition) requires spoilers. But after a while you just decide it's not worth your time. You guys know the rules. I've directed people the NSFW guidelines enough. I can't ban without causing a ruckus. There's not much I can do about it.

I'm just going to let you deal with Vasquez when he has one of his weeks. I don't have time to police the same thing over and over. Then you'll see why I stopped caring and why I just…

@Verbs

Thanks for the concern. You can trust that I won't ignore a rule violation just because nobody complained about it.

If I must explain myself: Vaz was comparing the butts to previous incidents of porn/gore on this thread. But I assure him that the butts by themselves, are not distasteful and merely posted in good humor. As it stands, I see the butts within rules so I'll presume it harmless until otherwise stated. Therefore if I were to take action against the butts, as it was implied that I should, then I'd only have a reason to do so if a complaint were filed.

I cannot comment if this same thing would have warranted action in the past. I wasn't involved in those jurisdictions. This is just my status quo and other mods and free to disagree with me

True 'clop' of course would warrant a response with or without anyone's comment as it is not permitted at all. Apologies for that inaccuracy in my statement

Anyway, that's a fantastic rendition of Rarity. I really like it. Have some more Rarity

Don't worry, she covered up her butt this time.

@Tweets:

@Fourth Pie Sister: This is… interesting, to say the least. I wonder what they're gonna call her. Maybe they call her a R63 version of Clyde. I don't know.

@Butts (because we gotta have butts):

I seem to like bat pony butts, don't I?

I hate to be the killjoy in this party, but I would really appreciate if we stop posting butts everywhere now. It's a funny joke to come up once in a while, but this has been going on for a page and a half now, to me the joke that wasn't even that funny to begin with is long dead.

@Deadparrot: I personally also like option 2 when it comes to the third Pie sister. But really, if this means the Pie family will be making another appearance I wonder what the point of having a third sister even is? It annoyed the crap out of me when Shining Armor came into the picture because we had never heard of him before but I was willing to forgive because you could at least use the excuse that he lives all the way in Canterlot and he and Twilight lead busy lives. But now we are being given a sister that was apparently part of a scene that we already saw she clearly wasn't a part of? I would once again be able to forgive if we saw this sister for the first time in whatever supposed future episode she may or may not be a part of because I could at least make up a headcanon that she found her special talent and left the farm to pursue it before Pinkie had her first party and did the same. But seeing this sort of feels like a spit in the face to past canon, in the middle of a season that is all about continuity and episode callbacks.

Speaking of the Pie family, I wonder what her sisters' special talents ended up being? Probably rock farming related, but still if we do get another episode with the Pies that doesn't take place in flashback we would be able to find out. I also always wondered how Pinkie ended up being, well, pink? It seems like coat and mane color are pretty hereditary in this world, going by the few parents we have seen in this universe, so I am curious if there is some extended family member that was also pink, and maybe also had a talent related to fun and partying? It'd be pretty interesting and funny if there was a trend in the Pie family where every few generations there would be one family member that came out pink and had a love for fun things. I'm getting carried away with the headcanon, somebody stop me!

I have a feeling when they said that "Pinkie Pie's SISTER would make an appearance this season" at comic-con I think they mean that they made THIS sister to introduce her later in the season while the sisters we thought would show up won't show up because…..now she has a third sister who will be the new canon sister.

@ Fifths's Nazi Theory

Considering that… I'd say we have ourselves a match. Still won't stop me from watching it for the plot.

Remember that one crackfic I worked on so long ago? Well, I finally got it finished and posted on my wall. Now it's time for the third, and I just wanted to see if any users wanted to be added to the current list.

So far, we have Blue, Bionicle, Crimson, Disturbed, Harshwhinny, Jimmy, level4outbreak, markhaox14, Mike, Platus, Ric Tesla, Stunthead, vintiezre, and xTSGx.

You wanna know what I’m sick of, Tumblr’s treatment of Bronies (Hence the title) I mean Tumblr has fandoms like Doctor Who, Supernatural, Sherlock, Adventure Time, Homestuck, and bands such as All time Low, Fall Out Boy, and Arctic Monkeys. And there’s also Anime but we don’t wanna be here all day, right? and then, there’s us, the Brony fandom. So, you wanna know what we’re reduced to? we’re reduced to SJW shoving there opinion down our throats choughs Pinkiepony, blogs dedicated to how much they hate us, and posts that just worsen the stereotype. And if you think if Tumblr gives us a proper, clean, and actual reposition of us, you’re deeply wrong good sir/mam, the type of image we’re reduced to is the fat, lazy, fedora-wearing, basement dweller who just sits on ass all day long and faps to images of the CMC having an orgy. And I can go on and on of how much of a bullshit-ridden image we get from Tumblr, but I’ll leave the rest to you.

That is all.

(But thanks for actually posting in the pony thread, no one ever follows that advice.)

If anything, some great bronies are most known for their Tumblr blogs. 7Nights (Human Luna), Slavedemorto (Backy), and Glasmond (Human Pinkie Pie, though that one's pretty much dead), to name just a few. The SJW's are just a vocal minority at the best. The anti-brony blogs don't really get much momentum and fade away after a few months. And the "neckbeard image" line is complete bullshit. You have no fucking idea how many bronies of different sexes, ages, races, heights, weights, orientations, and nationalities are on Tumblr. If you wanna believe what you believe, I have nothing I can use to stop you. I'm simply saying that you might not be looking in the right places.

@tumblr vs bronies
I actually feel the need to discuss what Danial said. I really don't like how Tumblr treats Bronies at all. I'm actually sort of mad. Tumblr will welcome you whoever you are and what you like so long as it's not hurting anybody. Well, that wasn't the case when the shit hit the fan by the time the Princess Molestia blog shut down. This is one of those posts flying everywhere among the "Molestia blog finally shut down? Yum yum brony tears" posts.

The SJWs are attacking the Bronies claiming they're all sexist (false) assholes (false they obviously never heard of Bronies for Good) and that it's a boy's club only (also false I know a handful of female bronies. Needless to say the neglected pegasisters felt the need to voice out that they exist in the fandom too.) It's funny when you think about how Bronies are now a real minority; you comment a non-pony related post on a non-pony related webpage while you have RD as your profile pic, you'd still get "get out of here pony boy" replies. And yeah, the SJWs aren't even going to "help" you out of that one.

Normally I'd just roll my eyes away from that nonsense, but wow, everybody was actually reblogging and agreeing to that ridiculous post, and said post isn't some dude wasting his time on a computer screen trying to piss off others, but it's someone who actually believes what they're saying.

I really don't care about it right now since I'm too busy enjoying season 4 but yeah. I still remember very well when Tumblr became a bona fide hypocrite. Generalization from SJWs isn't new, but whatever happened to Fandom Haven?

tl;dr Tumblr, aka Fandom haven, hates Bronies. Very Hypocritical imo. That is all.

Tumblr also have hate blogs for:
Furries
Happy Tree Friends fans
Sonic fans
Homestuck fans
Phineas and Ferb fans
Deviantart
Social Justice Whiners
Pooh's Adventures (What is Pooh's Adventures, you say?)

So basically, these blogs are more like the Cringeworthy gallery on this site. But they don't believe that the misdeeds of the sinful represents the deeds of the innocent. (So they basically don't think that "everyone in this fandom are shitheads because this one guy…") Really these blogs are supposed to be places to let off steam by guys who have to deal with these downsides of the fandoms.

Woo! Gonna read that tonight

I wanna be in the next one too!

@tumblr

In addition to other points raised already, I'm just going to add: Try not to do to Tumblr what a few Tumblr blogs are doing to other fandoms

Tumblr is not a hivemind and the whole community there does not collectively hate and shit all over everything in existence….that ED's role.

The blogs full of people going on misguided SJW rants are still a minority. I know we've had some trolls come over here and post tumblr excerpts full of brony hate which may make it seem like there's tons of Brony hate on Tumblr, but even then, most of those excerpts were from Pinkiepony

Funny how the internet can make the voice of the few sound like the voice of many

Hey everypony! I just wanted to ask this simple question and that is, which character from previous seasons of FiM would you like to see again! I really wanna see Gilda again, I know that she was just this stereotypical bully character but I really want to see some character development into her! and I'm probably sure I'm first one saying this, oh well.

One thing I've noticed is that tumblr likes to have a sort of "flavor of the week" when it comes to the user's target for hate. That's the one thing that's keeping me from being as enraged about the brony hate as some people are, because these are all people that just bandwagon jump from subject to subject on things to hate. Notice how this whole brony hate thing was only a thing once Molestia was brought into the spotlight, and it will fade into obscurity eventually just like all the other tumblr hatedoms. By the way, if someone tells you that tumblr is a safe haven for every fandom they are telling you a big fat fucking lie. It's only safe to be a part of a small pool of fandoms, and if you dare cross into any other fandom you run into assholes like this

I am by no means saying all of tumblr is like this, tumblr is a great place to spread creativity and discuss your favorite things, but these little insects are always there ready to tear apart just about anything that isn't in their immediate circle of "things I like".

@Onion Syrup: It actually angers me that you are writing that post off as ridiculous, because it brings up great points about manliness vs girlyness. The author is obviously wrong in painting the entire brony fandom like this, but they are not wrong in saying a lot of bronies (note I do not say "most") like to alienate the girls of the fandom and they like to claim FiM isn't girly for the sake of trying to save their own reputation of "being a man". At the end of the day, the way a lot of bronies treat the girls in the fandom reflects the way the internet in general treats its female users and if you know anything about the internet you know that is not a good thing. Also, saying you know a "handful" of female bronies doesn't mean this fandom isn't one big sausage fest. I don't mean to sound harsh when I say that, but really think about how many female bronies you know compared to how many males. This is a pretty active thread with plenty of participants but I'm the only active female member that I know of (pardon me if I am forgetting anyone). I don't remember the exact statistics, but the last brony survey showed that the overwhelming majority of bronies were men. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, but it sucks when running into someone that wants to keep it that way (which is a thing that happens more often than it should). As a final note, using "Bronies for Good" as an example of how the fandom is totally not a place full of assholes is no different from the SJWs using a tumblr blog to as an example of how everyone is an asshole. Bronies for Good is a great thing, but only a portion of the fandom donates, and so using it as something to represent the entire fandom is inaccurate at best.

Well I know a few people (like my ex-roommate) who would personally like to see Gilda burn in hell; however, I really would like to see other griffins and see what their culture is like. Obviously their society is somewhat integrated into the pony one if both species are doing the "Junior Speedster Flight Camp" together. Heck, maybe we could get an episode about just the camp itself. (like RD getting invited back to coach it or something. :3) We've only gotten hints of other species' cultures and haven't really gotten outside the boundaries of Ponyville/Canterlot that much.

That being said, there are other ponies that I would rather see first. The baby cakes are a definite must. We haven't gotten very much CMC this season. They've averaged 1/5 episodes in the past, but we've only had 1/12 this season. With 10 unnamed episodes left, it's a good bet we'll get to see more of them soon though. (Maybe we could even get another Button Mash cameo next season. lol.)

I'm more open to "who we haven't seen" rather than "who we've already seen" though. Most ponies were good one trick ponies that you can't really do too much more with in a reprise. Flim and Flam would be cool, but really what else could they do? Start a chain or something?

Last edited Feb 05, 2014 at 10:45PM EST

I wouldn't mind seeing more griffins in the show either, they seem very mysterious and it would be fun to see them more in the show. Same with donkeys and mules.

I found this on /mlp/ while I lurked, the image is big but I quite enjoyed it. (FYI, it's SFW)

@Mark
Yay! I'm in your next crack fic? This is going to be fun!

Last edited Feb 05, 2014 at 11:11PM EST

@Crimson

Mark also has a vagina fyi.

I think you and the person who made that tumblr post misunderstand the mindset of bronies who want to exclude females from the fandom. I don't think it stems from an inherent hatred of women or the feminine, we're watching a show about girly ponies for God's sake, and I don't think it comes out of some shallow drive to publically project our masculinity. I think the reason why some bronies are hostile towards females is because their presence critically threatens the ability of mlp to serve as a fantasy.

Now it's fairly self-evident that one of the reasons MLP is so appealing is as escapism: We get to enjoy entering a world of magical horses going on kickass adventures and dealing with adorably quaint social problems. I think another dimension of this appeal--for the awkward male demographic that makes up most of the fandom anyway--is that the show's well characterized and mostly female cast allows these poor bastards a surrogate for real female intimacy. There's so much tension involved when a guy tries to relate to a real, actual girl, you know? There's all the social and political tension of recent history, there's the natural sexual tension of our species, whatever. Still, we're naturally hardwired to want some female company. Mlp functions to provide guys access to a sense of female companionship without any of the hassle of having to deal with an actual goddamned woman. It's an emotional fleshlight (when it's not a literal one that is. There's a reason why clopping is so prevalent in this fandom besides the curve of Fluttershy's delicious yellow ass.)

So imagine you're one of these guys who finds in mlp a surrogate for females which he can be completely comfortable around. Nothing about your creepy, pale, basement dweller ass is going to scare these ones away. Through the artistic contributions of the fandom, you even get to see the ponies star in those interests of yours which you would NEVER mention around an actual girl. Got some gore fantasies? Pinkamena is only too happy to act them out. Wanna crack some bawdy rape jokes? Molestia away!

Now imagine that one of those terrifying females from the real world rolls in…yeah…suddenly all that tension comes flooding back. Suddenly you've got a large segment of your demographic spoiling the wonderful simplicity of your fantasy by reminding you how horrible your rape jokes are and how creepy your basement dweller ass is. Hell, they don't even have to say anything. Their very presence is making you uncomfortable because you're afraid how they'll judge you. Suddenly it feels like you've got a whole bunch of nagging shrews reminding you how there's no way they'd ever even consider fucking you and that the reason why the world isn't like the utopian Equestria of your moronic fantasies is because you're such a horrible chauvinist.

I don't mind female bronies personally, but I can definitely understand the impetus against having them around. Life is fucking hard (yes, even for white males) and sometimes you just want the horrors of it to leave you alone while you engage in some pleasant make-believe. Of course people are going to react negatively when THE VERY THING YOU'RE TRYING TO GET AWAY FROM starts complaining about not being allowed to join your sanctuary from them. As much as I sympathize with girls wanting to enjoy a show that was made for them, I also sympathize with guys wanting to have the sanctity of their time in the boys only club house respected.

Last edited Feb 05, 2014 at 11:41PM EST

@Danial
Flim & Flam definitely. Interesting and charming, those two.

@Crimson Locks

Pardon me for not being tactful enough, then. It's true that the post contains some pretty solid points against the sexist bronies out there, but undoubtedly the post could've been handled with more tact, restraint, and consideration for the minority in the fandom that doesn't fit any of the accusations written. That's my only big quip here, but I guess I should've seen it coming from a Brony hate post; consider me hit by the collateral damage. Personally I am offended because as a matter of fact I do say "what's wrong with liking something girly" when it comes to MLP (and PPG. and cross dressing) Moreover, it's a rare occasion for me to bump into a sexist brony, but I guess I'd have to be of the opposite sex to actually feel their presence. Nevertheless point taken, It'd be ridiculous for me to say sexist bronies are few in numbers because I've seen very little of them; that's fallacious. And no, I have no rebuttal for the final point. I was struck by the dumb beetle there. The "Flavor of the Week" concept is a nice thing to keep in mind regarding Tumblr though.

@Crimson

I hate to be the killjoy in this party, but I would really appreciate if we stop posting butts everywhere now. It’s a funny joke to come up once in a while, but this has been going on for a page and a half now, to me the joke that wasn’t even that funny to begin with is long dead.

Damn it, Crimson. I was finally the boss of something. Perhaps you would rather we post stallion butts for a while?
Sigh… Okay, whatever… but I'll have you know I just ordered, like, fifty more butts over the internet to give to the butt club. What am I supposed to do with all those butts now? I'll have to… hmm… you know, now that I think about it, I'm sure I'll find a use for them somehow. Okay then, no more butts for the time being.

I’m the only active female member that I know of (pardon me if I am forgetting anyone).

How could you forget about our Lyra-loving female user Markhaox14?
MARK! ACTIAVTE THE KUNG-FU KICKING ATTACK LYRA!

…Yeah, okay, Crimson, so if you could, uh… if you could just move your face a little closer to the attack Lyra, that would… that would be great…

@Danial

I really wanna see Gilda again, I know that she was just this stereotypical bully character but I really want to see some character development into her! and I’m probably sure I’m first one saying this, oh well.

Actually, Deadparrot made a post or comment ages ago where he said he wanted to see Gilda again. Not that I spend hours a day memorising everything he says or anything. Nope. Not me.

As for who I want to see, I really am just happy seeing anyone. I always like it when shows bring back old characters and expand on them rather than just making new ones, which is why I loved seeing Fleetfoot in Rainbow Falls. I'm still hanging out for a lower-deck episode where the Mane 6 are doing some big huge event in the background and the story is told from the perspective of other ponies in Ponyville living with it. Some would call it pandering, but I think there would be a lot of fun to be had there. It doesn't even have to be background ponies, just characters that haven't been in the spotlight as much as they could be.

@Fifths

You have put forward an very interesting perspective on the mindset of that of the "women hating neckbeard" type and I have to agree a lot of what you said made sense

But I have to say that it still gives me no sympathy for neckbeards at all and I will still assert that their actions are very much wrong and their aversion to women in the fandom is very damaging to this fandom and themselves

Basically people are rejecting women in the fandom because they are escaping from the difficulty of approaching them?

Sorry, neckbeards out there but this is no way to live your life. You cannot run away and hide from 50% of the world population. Avoiding women and how to approach them is also avoiding a critical step in your social development. Learning how to live among and communicate with the opposite gender is a mandatory step towards maturity. You have to face girls eventually whether you like it or not

You have to deal with the fact that women require you to shave that chin, take a shower and not objectify their bodies. You have to learn the necessary social queues to avoid creeping them out. You have to accept the fact that they are humans just like you

…or else you effectively stunt your personal development and never really grow up.

I'll admit that I use MLP as a form of escapism too. But only to get away from my daily life stress as a working adult. Taxes, car insurance, bank statements, work obligations, customer support. That's what I escape from. But even then I return to that the next day and learn to cope. I still shave my chin and trim my gut. That's what adults do, they deal with it.

What I don't use MLP to escape from is people, let alone women. It should be the opposite. This is a social fandom where we come to interact. MLP should be an opportunity for guys to hone their social skills and maybe even learn a few things about women too, if they would let them

Think about it boys, if there's a girl in your fandom then at least she'd be easier to talk compared to most since you have a common interest. It would be an easy starting point for learning to understand and respect women. Just try to be welcome and accepting and maybe, just maybe you might not find them so scary after all

…sorry for this rant. This was not directed at anyone in this thread. This was directed to the types of people that Fifths described

@Blue:

Pity this is one of those things we have to deal with; It's not likely we can change the way some people live. It's a shame, really. I'm really up for more women to join the fandom because I think that's one thing this fandom really lacks.

@Danial:
Obviously the show will go for a more Sailor Moon-esque transformation but it'd be hilariously cool if they transformed like this

Well, finally making my proper post!

Yeah, I know I should leave sleeping dogs lie, I don't want to start shit, just wanna explain some stuff and get proper closure on this.

And that’s definitely the smart thing to do. It is rational to seek reasons before you go and hate something. By all means you should consider carefully the reasons why you choose to dislike and hold onto that dislike. A wise man also re-evaluates his reasons on a regular basis
[…]
But while you hate reasonably if you must, I just think one shouldn’t pull their reasons from the ass. Either have good reasons or just admit you don’t have one, so we can all move along.

Thank you. I try to at least be reasonable about my reasoning behind my opinions even if I (evidently) fail a hell of a lot.
And I really don't want to pull them out of my ass either, and I feel like a tool for doing so, I wish I could justify my Vinyl hate a lot better but I still can't seem to pin it down better than that crap before.
Which I guess brings me back to the re-evaluating point, I can't help but think I should re-think Vinyl, since I've found fan-things about or involving her that intrigued me or I liked in various ways, bypassing said hatred of her. But at the same time, I can't help but kinda like hating her, and I don't want to stop, as cruel and stupid as it almost certainly sounds. Though I should probably suck it up, like I did for this show and fandom in general. I could at least keep to being ambivalent (like I feel about some ponies) rather than hating her for no reason.

You are quite right. While I may dislike CMC episodes, I in no way wish such ill upon them, nor by extension would I wish ill on their fans either.

I would just like to say that my hate is 100% aimed at the character herself, nothing against her fans. That would be inexcusably douchey of me.

As for the rest… I guess I'm a bit of a tool for feeling so strongly hateful towards a little cartoon horse, particularly with reasons that hold water like a colander.

Finally, I'd like to address the records thing, I'll suck it up and admit I was a bit of a twat for getting so irked about that, but can I just say that one of my friends is becoming a DJ and he seems to be going 100% digital all with his computer and nary a record in sight. So I guess that kinda has me biased
And wouldn't it be neat to see Vinyl go up against another DJ with a more tech-y method, perhaps trying to duke and out and see whose works better? …No? Well, okay then.

@Weird Al Episode:
I'll keep it brief since this is old news by now.
When I finally get around to Season 4 I'm gonna really look forward to this one, as I'm a big Weird Al fan! My only real issue is that I'm not terribly fond of his character's name, sounds silly and unfitting to me.
On that note, have a picture of Cheese pulling everyone's favorite face!

Also, semi-related in a way (MLP crossover with one of his things):

@Danial: First, welcome to the thread! May you enjoy your stay here!
Second, you're not the first, the "going to Equestria" one had someone saying he crossed the "Moral Event Horizon"
And it only makes sense that saying shit about a poor tormented kid would hurt worse than creepy nonsense and the rest of his shit.
It actually freaked me out, so much time it was "Ew, lol Lez" and then suddenly he genuinely gets on people's tits in a really horrible way…

Probably have to say, but I'll leave this for now.

@Crash's Vinyl hatred

Dude, the reason she uses records is because computers ARE LAAAAAAME! Put yourself in the position of an animator or cartoonist who has been given the task of nonverbally communicating that a character is a DJ. Are you going to show them sitting in front of a computer? How the fuck will you be able to tell that they're actually creating music as opposed to playing internet poker or doing their taxes or watching porn? You need the records and bigass speakers to unambiguously communicate what she's doing.

Seriously, fuck computers. These soulless boxes have done so much to remove the flavor and somethingness from the world around us as well as raising a generation of hopelessly dependent retards. I'd smash this damn thing if I wasn't so fucking addicted to it.

@Pinkie's third sister

Isn't she cute? Can't wait to see more art of her.

I used to feel the same way about toothpaste.

@bieber tweet

here's the sauce.

It bugs me that people are mad about this. Sure somebody probably told Bieber to do this to improve his image after that recent crime spree of his but It's sure to get Michael and his family a fuck-ton of support. In this case that's all that should matter imo.

@Crash

It's not a question whether you should choose between vinyl or digital formats when you DJ. The vinyl mix table is one of the instruments that the professionals use. You can DJ without one, but there are certain sounds you can only craft on a mix table, to my understanding. Also, vinyl is the format you wanna use when playing live for it's respective qualities, even though your entire distribution will be digital.

Obviously you don't need vinyl at all to make electro and get it out there. But it has it's place in the electro industry just like the bass guitar has it's place in the rock industry even though it's possible to make rock without one

@Danial

I am absolutely sickened by LezHuarez’s recent images of
Micheal Morones! the worst outta all of them was the /mlp/ imageboard screencap he toke.

Yea, about that guy…

Lez is a famous troll on KYM known for posting controversial imagery and 3rd party opinions in the MLP gallery, but he manages to skirt around outright rule breaking so the mods leave him be. He's not nasty or malicious. He doesn't even make the troll images that he posts. He just uploads controversial stuff and watches people freak out. Certainly much nicer than most other trolls we get.

He's also made some useful contributions in the past so I show him some lenience. I just delete his troll images that misuse the gallery.

I advise you not to let him upset you. Just say "oh, that Lez hohoho" and carry on. You know how trolls work. They feed off your upset so don't give it to them.

If he really does cross the line though, please don't rant about him here or anywhere else. PM me or another mod if you have an issue, alright? If he crosses a line, I'll slap him with warning, remove his trolling or issue a suspension.

@Beibz again

He tweeted in support of Micheal? Well that's very nice of him. Good on you, Justin.

Beibz douche rating just lost 10 points. Unfortunately he still has a long way to go before he reduces his overall douche score of 8091 down to 0

Please nobody hate on Justin for doing this though. I can almost hear the people going "WAAAH, PUBLICITY STUNT!" but c'mon, maybe Justin genuinely wants to change. There's a point where it's time to just let go of the hate and move on. Criticizing people for doing something nice is just petty on your part.

You know, I always thought that the ponifed version of Frozen would have Twilight play the role as Anna, and Cadence play as Elsa, Spike as Olaf, Flesh Sentry as Hans, and Kristoff as Shining Amour.
