(Eyyy level 90!)

Anyway, because it's 5-6 years old now what I was referring to was Law and Order's Special Victims Unit: Intimidation Game. Aired on February 11th 2015, about 3-4 months after the #Gamergate Scandal went big.

Here's a highlight real (warning, depictions of violence, implied sexual assault, and mansplaning by ICE-T…

Oh and Logan Paul.)

This was months before the 45th president was elected and #gamergate was being depicted as "An Isis of Hitlers" voting for Bernie, hellbent on ruining the lives of women and female developers. Specifically, ex con-person Anita Sarkesian (who's council has helped create great games such as Mass Effect Andromeda, Dishonored: Witches of Dunwall, and Assassins Creed Odyssey) Crash Override Network (CON) founder Chelsea "Zoe Quinn" Van Valkenberg, and repeated political runner Brianna Wu.

You know, I can get one saying GamerGate was dumb shit that could amount to being autistic screeching among gamers and the like but I don't see how not giving it any "punishment" leads up to the nuts at Capitol Hill and the like avoiding punishment. Quinn and Wu and the like can say how GamerGate is all totally linked to this but I honestly doubt the likes of boomers and MAGApedes even give any fucks about GamerGate, games journalism ethics, and the like.

How is this related to Gamergate?
I mean, I'm turning it over in my head, and I see no direct relation.

The "published narrative" on #Gamergate is that because the movement wanted ethical release of publisher/developer relationships, after the whole quinspiracy fiasco, then #Gamergate movement must be a bunch of white neckbeared men who hate women and minorities. This leap in logic means that this female and racist group must have voted for a racist and sexist president. Thus #Gamergate is the support that is currently fueling the [bad event] that is going on now.

That's the short version. Long version? Read the KYM article.

I was GG and I voted Bernie both times.

That's why it's in quotation marks. #Gamergate, according to the articles we keep citing, define the movement as "everything wrong" against the progressive agenda. Instead of, as recorded, asking games media to publish the relationship between its reviewers and the developers in a disclaimer.

It doesn't matter what the individual did that supports #Gamergate, it's the projection/definition it's been given in a published article that allows it to be used as a scapegoat/boogyman.

Simple.

1. Be e-thot.
2. Be over the hill e-thot starved of attention and still seething over gamers laughing at you.
3. Check news for current events.
4. "[Current Event] is just like GamerGate! Give me attention & victimbux! Please, the shitty clickbait blog I work for only gives $5 for every article I write about shoving Nintendo peripherals up my ass and I need $3000 to pay rent on the studio apartment I share with my roommates!"

I'm not surprised they would bring this up. They view us as being similar to Trump and his supporters. I'm surprised they didn't bring up GG after the earlier protests. Or maybe they did and we just didn't pay attention.

Even other leftists laugh at this take on Twitter, calling it " self-centered white feminism at its finest":

The reason why they brought up Gamergate according to this article is simple. It was the moment the alt-right found its footing and used a standard cause to grow and try to sucker us in, using jouranilistic corruption to its advantage. One vent post about a feminist cheating on her boyfriend and abusing him later, and the sneaky fucks made so many people back far-right harassers and rabble-rousers slowly over time through manipulation, using cases of corruption for their own gain. Anita and Zoe looked like grifters to me, but Milo and Breitbart are so much worse in my eyes. In hindsight, it was obvious.

In my opinion, "Ethics in journalism" would be legit if the journos were attacked more instead of the women blowing the whistle on how bigoted so many were in secret. Just look at the antisemitic caricatures of Anita Sarkeesian on her gallery, and tell me this wasn't a hate movement in disguise.

Well what do you know… Vox turns out to have a point. I wish we weren't so blind and angry from the beginning.

Pronouns in the name? That's a new low.
Also this quote function is fucking awful.

Sure lets disregard all the past that she has done, one of the most notably drove Alec Holwaka to suicide due her using Cancel Culture against him and she got away freely with no consequences lmao

Gamergate is not responsible for what happened this afternoon. SJW's are fucking delusional.

And that's exactly why this is happening. Nobody stopped them in 2010 and now it has escalated to violence. Don't forget nobosy stopped CHAZ, and they yeled GG when Chauvin acted with criminal negligence as a cop.

If they're not stopped escalation will contunue. How many buildings or businesses were attacked yesterday, I ask? None. One side is clearly at unfair advantage and the other demonized by the press.

To be clearer about what i said earlier, she only had a point in letting online hatred festering unchecked having consequences. It just happened to be the only time it had a catchy name before Trump. Still doesn't change the fact she seems like such a self-centered, bourgeois grifter.

Oh well in that case, you're correct, and I apologize.

There's one sad person who only subscribes to this thread so they can downvote every post in it, they've been doing it for years.

I don't know how to capture/archive Twitter videos so here's the Direct Link

Apparently this DJ reiterates the narrative that Gamers are the reason for the Senate Takeover. With his evidence being a gaming related tattoo to a dead franchise (Thanks Anita) And also not realizing the irony that he also fits his own description.

I feel that we might see the the same trending pattern of the twitteratti, give him a few months to either fade out from this or, if he attracts too much attention from the others that profit on this histeria, he will get me too'ed/brought up on charges.

Basically 50/50. I have dealt with radicalized people, been one myself for a whole year (Until a single woman changed my perspective on the world) and I can tell you 50% is them trying to convince eveyrone, and 50% is them actually believing something similar to their claim.

They firmly believe anyone who disagrees with them is evil. Therefore any accusation of wrongdoing must be true. Also they believe they are the only ones who can shape and master truth. Their truth is the truth, and their bias is fact.

I have been, during my yester years, in all sides of the political spectrum. And what I can tell is it is all a bunch of lies spread by armies of morons.

Communists are morons. Feminists are morons. MGTOW are morons. Conservaives are morons. And the funniest part is, since all of them have authoritarianism and identity politics in common, they all believe they're geniuses and everyone who disagrees with them is evil and must be terminated.

We're dealing, in the end, with authoritarian busybodies who can't mind their own business for fifty seconds before wanting to execute everyone for disagreeing with them. That's why they basically inhabit Twitter. A place where thier power fantasies are closer to reality.

I tossed mine in. I remember about Bannon wanting to use Milo and I remember Milo being a face for GG. To tl;dr, GG didn't start off as far right from the get go but Bannon did want to sway people in it to Trump and what better way than Milo. That said, GG was an internet phenomena and even without it, Trump would still have his fan base and we'd still get the events at Capitol Hill. One could argue though that the whole far right complacency can happen elsewhere besides just in GamerGate.

I skimmed some of the posts. It talks about far-right types exploiting GG. I believe there were some people who had questionable beliefs and appeared far-right, and it felt like they were taking advantage of it for their personal reasons. It mentioned Milo who struck me as someone who was anti-anti-GG, who did not appeal to me, personally. People like him have pretty much forgotten about this stuff.

I don't think we're perfect by any means. The OP in that thread mentioned how some unethical-looking stuff was seemingly ignored. I saw some controversies about unethical things that didn't get much mention here. Actually, one recent type of controversy that came up was CD Projekt Red not allowing original gameplay footage of Cyberpunk 2077 reviews with the restricted partnerships that they've offered to other people. That obviously looks shady.

That's all I have to say for now.

I will say that back then when GamerGate was a thing, much as I was pro-ethics, I didn't really pay a whole lot of attention due to more important things like college work and being more active on other sites such as Kiwi Farms (I know it's a shit hole and as a long time user from there, I honestly don't like how it gets knee deep with idiots who thinks "transgender" = "lolcow" just because Chris-Chan came out as a trans or some random on Twitter they don't like happened to be trans and the trans called them a dumbass) which funnily enough at least kept me a bit informed as to what was going on between the pro and anti side in how stupid they'd get such as with how much a sperg and an ass Milo turns out to be.

All that said, yeah OP was talking of how far-right types exploited GG in thinking they could sway more people to the right wing through someone like Milo. Back then with GG, it gave a bunch of people who voiced support for it such as Milo and other people I couldn't really give two cares about because they made me go "who?" Back then, I didn't even know much about Milo aside from him liking Portal and being in Postal 2 until a Kiwi Farms thread showed me a bit more on how much a douche he was, such as where he mocked a fat guy at a gym and showing the slow burn fall of the "most dangerous" homosexual once his grift was up.

Sort of, as long as we keep recording their own definitions of gamergate and time-stamping them it's easier to disprove as the reports aren't in lockstep.

First its a campaign against game journalists.

Then it's an isis of hitler's.

Then bernie bros.

Then secret trump supporters.

A month ago it was a harassment campaign against female Gamers. (Again)

Then it was a harassment campaign against female game developers.

Now it's Capitol stormers.

As long as the definitions keep conflicting then the kabal that seeks to gain from this will always be questioned. It's more tossed in as a movement or group with a single always changing per article definition, as if that's supposed to suffice as a passing reasoning point.

TL;DR It's easy to prove who is lying about gamergate, by showing differences in how it's reported.

If by GamerGate people they meant what the OP of this link said:
https://knowyourmeme.com/forums/serious-debate/topics/62863-rant-on-the-complacency-with-the-far-right-in-online-culture
*TL;DR OP notes that by GamerGate, he meant people using similar tactics and such of harassment or passing off threats as jokes
I could see that what with individuals saying something but then try to excuse their angry threats and words as "jokes" and "just kidding." Whether they were jokes or not can be another story and discussion.

All that said, I wouldn't be surprised if some of these people were thinking more of neckbeards and the like who at most would just make some angry keyboard mashing and the like and go "REEEEE" rather than being able to storm the Capitol Building and make a shit-eating grin while walking out with a podium. Even more so in them wanting to just go with the idea that it was all far-right from the get-go rather than something that happened once Race Bannon threw Milo in and some grifters descended on it to make it be less about ethics and journalism and more on something like "owning the SJWs" or focusing on something superficial like a transflag in a game than a developer trying to cut deals with a gaming journalist.

Quick question: was Elliot Rodger used for radicalization towards white supremacy? I remember seeing his manifesto to get an idea of what he was and he displayed some euro-centric views (as in focusing on his dads side and something about being a descendent of royalty and wondering why some woman would fuck a guy descended from slaves rather than kings without realizing that at age 14, one guys story of getting laid is likely BS) but at most as I can remember with Rodger, he'd be less for racial related things and more of some poster boy for incels in how they think the Stacy's or whatever should suffer.
