Official Message from Vascony
If everything goes according to plan, Vascony Pacific™ will be open for business as of next turn. Pacific nations who wish to trade with Vascony will be happy to know that Vascony will now function as the global hub for trade between the Asian, European and North American continents.
Vascony would also be interested in purchasing Cattonia's Atlantic islands. If you'd care to name your price?
I'm not really interested in selling them. Certain territory is priceless, and I think the combination of almost every island in the Atlantic falls into that category. Obviously I was setting myself up to become the major trading hub, but we'll see.

I'll take you up on that offer. Japan is home to the greatest ships and shipbuilders in the Pacific rim, and we'd be happy to sell to you and trade.

My apologies, but the Reich had this coming. Not only did they cut off my trade routes which I was attempting to set up in Europe, but they also directly threatened me for merely wanting to trade. (Notice that I made no aggressive actions towards Europe to provoke any sort of response.) Charlie Brooker's Reich will pay for its insolence.
Not to mention I sorta' enjoy the irony in New England colonizing Europe.@Wastelands:
I may have made it sound like I was against your trading expansions. Let me be clear:
I don't care for the territories you already own, nor do I care about your trade deals in Asia.
The only thing which bothers me is that you seem to be acting rather aggressively, and then you start threatening the nations surrounding you.
"Also, don’t anyone dare touch me, I’m doing what I want, and I don’t want any interference."
I don't want a North American version of Kickassia to deal with on top of my war with the Reich.
In the case that war between our two nations does come to pass, I can easily reach the Wastelands. After all, I'm certain that The Glacier Community would be more than happy to allow my military to use their trading routes as a pathway into your nation, considering the way you've been treating them. However, I also see your need for expansion. I don't blame you for trying to get more land and resources, especially considering your current predicament (being wastelands and all).
I don't really want to go to war with you at the moment, but I'll do what it takes to defend my trading rights. You seizing Glacier Community pathways does affect me, and if you continue this expansion, you'll likely cause the collapse of T.G.C., which would result in my losing a valuable trading resource.
I won't tolerate any further aggression against T.G.C., and I'll resume trade with you only if you agree to halt your expansions in North America. Until then, I'm placing trade sanctions on the Wastelands.
So how's all that working out for you?
@Otak Empire:
Any peaceful travelers who aren't carrying money are welcome within the warm and fuzzy boundaries of Sagarmatha. But surely you have boats? You're closer to Vietnam over the sea than land.
@Vascony:
While it's obviously up to Syndic, I can't imagine that passing over the widest portion of South America is preferable to crossing at Panama, even without the canal. Just because you span the continent doesn't mean you're an obvious choice for long-distance trade. You're going to have to compete with Angmar and N.A.U.'s Middle Eastern passage. or even N.S.R., which (due to Mercator) is not as large as it looks.
@Syndic:
I could have sworn that I posted a question about Vietnam, but I can't find it. What sort of government do they have? Actually, I don't know that I'm the only one who is curious enough to get a short synopsis of government and economic types of the NPC countries. Oh, and I did make a properly-sized version of my new flag for your convenience:

The Pacific is wide, and I've rounded the horn of Africa. If everything goes to plan, I should have a port in the middle of the Indian Sea by next turn. Going through Vascony gives you access to a much wider variety of countries, and even better we'll facilitate a direct route; no middle men bar us.
@Fridge I sense much boat in you.
@MDFification:
Ah, I see. Within a few turns, the sun may never set on the Vascony empire, eh? I can see that there are many more pros than cons to that. This could get interesting.
@NERV:
Don't be pushy. We have no current intention of pushing our borders farther east, but are definitely going to expand northward from our current position in China. If you take a violent stance towards Vietnam, we will be forced to take sides, and who knows what this will mean?
Alright, despite not know everything my nation did exactly. I'll have to post my turn now. My plane leaves soon and I'll be out of contact for a few days. Hopefully back in time without missing a turn.
@MDF, Robotnik & Cale
Finally I have a coastline. Prepare your merchants, I'mma make some BOWTS
@BSOD: You didn't send a turn. Sorry, I double checked and there wasn't one.
@Brucker: Vietnam is a totalitarian Communist state, claiming to be a corporation in order to befriend SingSong, a corporate oligarchy.

My invasion would have worked out a lot better had a certain European nation not decided to assist the Reich in their war against me.
Anyways, for now at least, I'm declaring a military truce with Charlie Brooker's Reich, as I do not have the strength militarily to fight two allied countries at once.

Well, at least the Red sea.
Actually, it seems quite clear from the map that sea level has dropped, but it doesn't seem to have affected many of the inland seas. Actually, it might be glaciation but no matter. I guess what I'm saying is that while international trade may not be a big thing on inland seas, they're still there.

Ah, you're right, I typed the wrong thing.
They are still there. They're just noticeably smaller and quite salty.

I learned it by watching you, dad!
I learned it by watching you…
@Brucker: I have no intention of attacking Vietnam. Why would I make such an utterly illogical decision? They're a valuable trading partner to me. I'm also not going to attack you, since you pose absolutely no threat to me and you clearly have your own problems to deal with, so please calm down.
Need I remind y'all that there's another country to my immediate east (and west, technically) that murders its people in the streets and puts them in prison camps?

And perhaps the other country that does that same thing, and is Sagamartha's largest trading partner?
All these monopolistic oligarchies and communist states in Asia, tsk tsk. I think I'll go hang around with ANZAC.
Hello, Pacific neighbors!
You always make every turn such a special turn! Just by being yourself!
Sometimes you might say mean things to each other, and that can make you feel sad or angry. But remember that we can always find a way to all be happy together.
And isn't that a good feeling?
@Syndic
You're right. The turn I sent yesterday didn't go out. I'll resend it. Luckily I found a Starbucks (not that hard to find here in LA, frankly)
You better not be talking about the turn I sent last turn. I KNOW you got that one

I only put Criminals in prison camps. Besides, I'm kind of the "Peace is good, if you are a thread to world peace you must die" guy. Also, what's your deal? Is it because I'm based in the Korean peninsula? You RACIST!
@BSoD: You're in L.A., and you didn't look me up to hang out? I mean, I'm right here in California, only a mere 500-ish miles away; that's virtually next door! I don't know that I've ever been so insulted…
And yeah, finding a Starbucks in a major metropolitan area is hardly luck; you'd be more hard-pressed to find a corner where one was not within line-of-sight.

Turn 11
Winter 2153 – 2154
Important, please read:
I won't be continuing the nations RP, and I don't suspect I will do another one at all. I have lost interest in doing this, and I don't want this one to die a slow death like before, taking a week to write each turn because I can't find the time. This is mostly a personal decision. I'm not as invested as I used to be in this type of thing, and you have every reason to hate me for giving up like this.
If anybody would like to continue the game or migrate to a new one, be my guest. I will help you in any way that you want me to, if you do want to work on it on your own. Send me a PM with all of your questions if you are interested in taking over.
Again, very sorry, but this will be the last turn written by me. I hope it was fun while it lasted.

I'm willing to try if Syndic can send me the map file.

Los Angeles is a really huge city. I doubt we will find each other.
If I had a working phone then there might be a chance but sadly NZ service providers don't reach all the way here. Signing up to a US service apparently sets me back 50 bucks

Probably.
Anyway, I have received the map file and I suppose the votes are in for me to work on this, so go ahead and redirect turns to my Inbox, remember to label them KYMnatRP or I probably won't read them.
Also do expect a delay of a things while I gather this together.
