Between the bloodbending and the flashback, the last episode was pretty sinister.

Something that made me sad was all the cliches that they put in. Not every team has to put their hands together when they decide to be a group. No one gets instantly cheered up by that aforementioned team spirit, especially after getting so directly insulted.

Sometimes their lines didn't sound very natural, either. But I guess when Asami says "Yes" instead of "yeah", that may just be her upper-classness bubbling up.

The hands-together thing annoyed me too, but sometimes even Mike and Brian nod.

Also, congrats on the page get.

I really hope they aren't putting it there on purpose. I hypothesise that Nick may be nudging them toward those tropes so as to make LoK more child-oriented. But then again I'm not sure.

I WILL HAVE TO OPEN CHANNELS WITH THE AUTHORS THEMSELVES TO CRACK THIS CHESTNUT

I THINK I FIGURED IT OUT!

Tarrlok (I LOOKED UP HOW TO SPELL IT!!11) is sending Korra to the catacombs in the mountain near Omashu!

it makes sense! She would likely never get out of there, and it is someplace out of the past!

inb4 I'm completely wrong and get laughed at

Sorry, already been confirmed that all episodes take place in the Republic city area.

AND I TOLD YOU ALL THATS HOW YOU SPELL IT

YOU TURKEY

I wonder if it's okay to talk about the latest episode by now. I hope we aren't giving away anything that people haven't seen yet.

Oh, we're such a bunch of chatty Cathies.

Gossipping Gertrudes.
Talkative Tailors.
Babbling Babs.

Yeah.

There is a new clip of the upcoming episode. I couldn't be bothered to link it, just go to korranation.

YOU WILL LINK IT,
AND YOU WILL ENJOY LINKING IT.

HAVE I MADE MYSELF CLEAR?

Piano wrote:

YOU KNOW WHAT, I'LL JUST LINK IT.

MAN, TARRLOK EVEN ELECTROCUTED HIMSELF. HE'S DETERMINED.

FYI: I'm going to spoil the shit out of that preview and I don't even care.

He said that when he came to the police had arrived, but we saw that he was wearing the glove when he used it on himself, but that later the glove was on the ground. Did he just pretend to pass out and then just lay there all night, or did he somehow get the glove off without being seen. I know he has the chief in his pocket, but I doubt that every single officer is in on the conspiracy.

He may have genuinely passed out from electrocuting himself. Pretty much everyone that gets hit with one of those gloves doubles over and falls unconscious, so I don't see why he's an exception.

But then why was the glove not still on his hand when the officers arrived?

Platus wrote:

Hmm, I had to rethink this for a moment.

Yeah, I think he probably kept consciousness through the shock, set the glove down, and then passed out (or pretended to do so) in another part of the building, or next to the glove.

GUYS

WHERE DID HE GET THAT STUFF FROM IN THE FIRST PLACE

He has a lot of power and connections. I imagine he could get an equalist glove if he wanted to, from the police, or even from merchants who have smuggled them into their possession, or are distributing them to the public.

I have a feeling your theory has been debunked.

What if Amon resisted the bloodbending because he and Tarloc ARE THE SAME GUY. Which means that Amon is a non-bender BECAUSE HE DE-BENDED HIMSELF!

Holy shit you guys.

Holy crap Amon can resist bloodbending.

Oh good god.

What is he?

EDIT: This is probably totally out there, but what if he's a spirit?

I believe Amon is a champion of Tzeetnch, chaos god of Change (or more colloquially "just as planned"). Its possible the reason he resisted the blood bending is because he used the daemonic psyker powers granted to him by his master to over power the bending. He might also be using the warp to strip benders of their abilities. And the anti-bender movement? Just a ploy by Amon to spread chaos in the name of his lord.

Think about it. His unnatural powers, his unclear motives, his push for "change," how everything he does is all ways a massive dose of "Just As Planned." Even the mask and robes are probably just there to hide his deformed daemonic face. Amon doesn't care about republic city, or benders, or equality, or the avatar. Hes just using all of republic city to spread the reach of chaos.

It makes perfect sense.

wat.

I meant spirit as in from the spirit world, as in the Avatar spirit world, as in where Koh and that giant panda thing lives, as in where the past avatars also live, as in you're not making any sense.

Yeah, I thought that part was particularly gruesome as well. You can hear his neck cracking and everything. LoK is weird in that it combines really dark themes akin to action anime and very light themes akin to children's shows. I really hope the show matures, because Mako's stereotypical-ness is highly distracting.

The blood bending noises scare the living s*** out of me. I get squeamish at the human body in general, but that really made me grossed out. Also, that prediction was, what, 100% ACCURATE!? I call hax. That person either somehow saw the episode earlier or just has a really high sense of perception and made an uber-lucky/educated guess. And now the season finale is upon us. My, how time flies. My guess is for Amon losing, but surviving to fight another day. And we won't, sadly, see who he is yet. Since all the flashbacks, we now know, are about Yaconne, this leaves us again with pretty much nothing as to his identity. Except that he probably isn't Tarloc. THAT we know.

Looking at you Fedora. Anyway…

DAMN. What an episode. The only thing as scary has the constant blood-bending was how close this prediction was. It was missing / added a few things like Yakone blood-bending everyone himself without his hands or assistance by any other blood-benders and Katara not making an intervention.

Anyone else notice that Amon is "taking care of" anyone with bending that seems to be an enemy of Korra? Triple Threat Triad, Tahno and now Tarloc.

Last episode of the book, Air, and Korra still hasn't done any airbending but I feel like she'll be able to learn it way quicker now that she's in touch with Aang.

I saw that thread on Reddit. It is absolutely insane how close that guy was.

And you should really get an alarm clock or something, Fedora.
