Did someone say OC refseet?
Guess what, I got some! Draw me some knightly arse!
Funny how often I end up dragging that thing out, no?
Still making art over here, as well. Still lazy, but hey, stuff's getting done regardless. Have a gallery, and critique be welcome as usual.
This is a little something very unfinished. Started sketching it waiting for my ride one Monday, on account of a looming deadline. I managed to fill in for this one with something else I'd made, though, so I left this one be.
So we had to sketch a skull. Pretty standard stuff. Apparently they're gonna use these as Halloween decorations, heh.
We were tasked with doing art inspired by some art movement. I decided on Art Nouveau, or more specifically, its grand-daddy Alphonse Mucha. Quite proud of this one. I ain't so proud of
this attempt to colour it, though. That's what you get when you forget to install Photoshop and have to jury-rig a solution with tools you don't know well.
They wanted something intertextual. I fought off the urge to mishear that part of the instructions, and went with this. I thought about doing something
Thief related, but I figured that might be a bit too obscure for my audience. Apparently, only one still got this reference (the pegasister, incidentally). Fellow students, I am dissappoint. Also pretty much the first time I touched coloured pencils since I was a wee lad.
This is a preparatory sketch for the course final. I intended to do one for all the characters in it, but got lazy. This here's the Fallen Knight, disgraced nobleman and bitter mercenary on the wrong side of the law, on account of murdering a superior officer in the war.
And here's the end result. I intended to colour it, but nope, lazy. This bunch of miscreants are three of the four main characters for that little comic book idea I've been pondering. You've met the Knight, The bird's a black barn owl thief with a mysterious past, the snake's a kind soul accused of witchcraft and the fellow not appearing in this image is an undead mamluk.
These two are part of a course called
Process Painting which involves making a series of images each building on the last. To start with, we have to do one image for each of the three prime colours; red, blue and yellow. Here's two. I tried painting at first. The
result was not to my liking, to say the least. Good old lappy, finally remembered to stick Photoshop in it. They're both a bit work in progress at the moment, but still. You might recognize the red one, I'm using my older stuff as a base 'cause I'm lazy, hah.
I did this one just a few hours ago, in fact. Second time I've used a coal stick. Quite like that tool, even if it's a bit messy. Standard issue antique torso study. Had a bit of fun with the background, though.
Still haven't found that damn unicorn holding that damn flag with that damn writing on it. Even went through the search results year by year starting from 1980. Goddamn, I think I'd have better luck touring the country's landfills looking for the computer I saved it on. Anyone got any ideas?
