So, anyone remember how we haven't seen Miles and/or Kerry's favorite Grimm yet? How much do you want to bet that it's the first one to kill a protagonist.
Is the whole Miles and Kerry being evil joke stale yet?

I personally believe it's gonna be a Chihuahua, that's gonna be annoying for everyone 'cept Ruby, but then Zwei goes berserk and gonna rip it.

To answer this you must think : What is more awsome then a dragon ( Except for me of course NYEH HE HE) …..Cathulu……I guess Cathulu
So I wonder over a yonder window. I was looking up some quality RWBY stuff. Namely dating sims, cause I was bored. Any good ones out there? I mean I'm just curious! Also if it's an eroge I don't mind! Crap, I sound horny and lonely right? Well maybe a bit buuuut really I'm just curious, I swear…… C'mon stop judging me!
Anyway, I usually don't double post but this just got me thinking. Qrow's semblance. What if Qrow's semblance isn't morphing into a crow, but gaining strenght from hits, so his actual semblance is something like of Yang. Now you may ask "But Penny, what about Qrow turning into a crow?" The answer is simple, it's an ancient super power like Ruby's silver eyes. Now why I think Qrow's semblance is turning hits to extra strenght? When he got hit by Winter….
His eye glinted and after that his next hit was stronger than the previous ones. Albeit slower, enough slow to allow Winter to summon a glyph to adjust her jump power and distance. Now about that morphing power. I say ancient, cause ancient super powers sounds cool and mysterious and cause so far every power that wasn't semblance or aura stems from people of ancient legends (The silver eyed warriors, the Maidens, etc.), So was thinking and started to collect people with red eyes, and to my surprise, they are fairly low on Numbers. Qrow, Raven, Yang, and Emerald. I even checked the background characters but seemingly red eyes are rare too. Oh yeah don't forget the best one, Salem. And actually that gives some thoughts. Salem, leader(?) of the grimms has red eyes, Emerald a servant of a psychopath has red eyes, Raven the mysterious mother of Yang, wears a grimm mask and supposedly dwells in a realm full of grimms. Qrow? Maybe good guy, but not too much if even his allies doubts his trustworthyness. And poor Yang? She's on the good side fully, right? She's not innocent, she did some shady stuffs to find her mother, heck the first thing we saw from her was grabbing a poor dude in the groin cause he's supposedly knows everything. Junior literally did nothing to deserve that, yeah tried to kill Yang, but not before what Yang did. Just what would be your reaction if a girl walks in your club hurts your balls and your pride? I would try to get rid of her too.

You mean Cthulhu, but the internet didn't fail to deliver on Cathulu.
As for Penny's theory, nice find. While I pegged it as standard Lycanthropy (Crowthropy? Nevermorethorpy.) your idea fits more. With both the Maiden and Silver-Eyed-Warriors stories proving to be true, what's to say other fairy tales won't come to true.
While we don't know what other stories are floating around Ramenant, we can make a few guesses. Hell, the main characters are based on real world stories, so do we have anything like the Maidens or silver eyed warriors? If we do, then we just need to look at similar stories.
So…um…anyone else notice we haven't seen Pyrrha or Penny in RWBY Chibi yet? I genuinely wonder if they are going to show up.

Unfortunately, all I could pull up for Silver Eyes were references to that Five Nights at Freddy's book, some German fairy tail called "One-Eye, Two-Eyes, and Three-Eyes" that only referenced Silver fruit, not eyes, and a ton of RWBY fan pages.
However, I was able to find that the daughters of Helios were said to be Horae, according to Nonnus in Dionysiaca, which is an ancient epic poem of sorts. Horae are basically godesses of the seasons, although the number of them vary depending on the source. Traditionally, they guarded the gates of Olympus, promoted the fertility of the earth, and rallied the stars and constellations.
The four daughters of Helios were named Eiar (Spring), Theros (Summer), Phthinoporon (Autumn), and Cheimon (Winter).
I just thought that since someone's father is their "old man" that this may be the tale they're referencing.
True true! As for Crows, Aesop's fables may be cool? Anyway for Silver eyed people, nothing. Silver people what I found, but all they did was living for a thousand years as children before growing up quick and die a sudden, Zeus destroyed them because of their impiety. Hesiod mentions them in his poem Works and Days, interestingly the poem also mentions the "Maidens". Maybe we have to look in the Eastern literature? One more word for the crows, what if Qrow is a survivor of some ancient civilization, long before the maidens, at the same time as the Silver Eyed warriors? What if he's like somekind of a shaman who can turn into their spirit animal, or take control of it? Some West african tribes believe spirit animals has a blood bond with their shamans, means if the animal dies so does their owner. Anyway I believe Qrow's ability is somehow related to the Therianthropy.
Hold up! I just remembered Norse mythology has two ravens! They are Odin's messengers and scouts.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Huginn_and_Muninn
Long story short, they fly all over the world and bring back news to Odin.
This sounds a little like Qrow's relationship with Ozpin.
Sounds just right. Will look int it. Anyway, about my Aura, I just noticed something, in the tournament. Whenever I had a fight. There was no Aura meters displayed. In My team vs CRDL, no Aura scoreboard, while in the same episode Yang and Weiss had. Also in Yang vs Mercury there was a scoreboard but in me vs Pyrrha wasn't. Odd isn't it?

Perhaps your aura is used internally, rather than externally, and thus your creators assumed that your metal body would be impervious to most forms of attack (Except for your own wires, but what are the chances of that happening). I mean, you ended up having your hands get scratched from stopping a truck, so I don't think it's the same type of "force field" that most other Aura users have. It may explain why you have long range weapons, rather than any close-range ones, since that means you would be able to take out any enemies without getting unnecessarily damaged. The problem with that is that it wouldn't make sense for Ironwood to be able to turn off the aura screens without anyone questioning it.
Or it could have just been an oversight, too, I guess, and I might just be over thinking it.
I don't think anyone in the middle of an intense action would just look up and say "Hey why there are no Aura screens?"

Just remembered, RWBY Chibi Episode 3 is out on RT site for registered users. Both Sponsor and Non-sponsor.
So, RWBY Chibi Ep3. Thoughts?
I personally loved the part when Jaune grabbed her Scroll and went all Isaac Clarke on it. And the funniest thing is, the Scroll suffered no damage.

to back up, in the next attack his sword cut a lamppost, hello, SOLID metal!
More like he broke the concrete. It was quite ground-breaking! Not sure about the lamp post though, Ruby was also seen cutting a tree in half, clean. Of course metal =/= wood. And we don't know what metal they have in those posts. (That tree was a reatard btw, and it wasn't ok!)

For me, unknown why but the Dust Cartridge scene was my abouslute favourite. I had some Bumblebee vibes from the You are IT scene. And the scene where Jaune was calling Weiss? Didn't like it at all, okay the faceplant was funny but post-Volume 3, Jaune keep hitting on Weiss, just hurt me more than it should.
Minority opinion time! I like the names in RWBY, but am skeptical of the Color Naming Rule. Specifically, it’s the “makes people think of a color” part that stretches it beyond usefulness. The rule works for plenty of characters, especially Team RWBY, but if we are to accept names like Penny, Ironwood, and Sun as color-related, then the rule becomes “pick a noun.” The mental gymnastics I’ve seen on the RWBY wiki to explain how a given character’s name follows the Color Naming Rule have been absurd. If somebody is named after an object that has a color, apparently it makes everyone think of that color.
What I like about the names in RWBY is how they make sly references to literature, mythology, and history. That way, if you know a thing or two about the source material, you get the occasional thrill when you catch the reference. This is strong enough that it doesn’t need an arbitrary and faulty color-based rule attached. Consider the fan-made characters of Team PEAK, which, despite being parodic and disregarding the Color Naming Rule, sound as if they would fit right in the world of Remnant. Not only do they reference mythology, but…they just sound right. It’s still thematically appropriate. It’s that kind of referential creativity that I like to see in fan characters. Not adherence to the Color Naming Rule.
Tl;dr It’s unreasonable to ask fans to follow a rule that the show’s writers only follow half the time anyway.

I'm not sure, you are kinda right, I mean you could pick colors from different languages too, like Gris Argent, both colors for gray and silver in german. And also, just think about it for a second. Yang Xiao Long, literally translates to Sun Little Dragon, has nothing to do with colors directly, like Ruby Rose for example, but also let's just wonder for a second, in a world where literally free expression is not just promoted but mandatory, you want to be as unique as possible, yeah, we could go ahead and call every people with black color theme Blake, but it would run stale. And just to protect my own name:
I'll admit a lot of the characters fit the color theme and some of them are clever. It's just, when I hear things like, "Neptune is a blue planet" or "the sun is associated with the color yellow" or "funky is associated with the bright lights of disco," I roll my eyes. My personal headcanon is that after a couple decades of naming kids for colors, some people got tired of it and started naming them whatever they wanted. When they get called out, they just justify it with stuff like, "What do you mean Fox isn't a color? Foxes are red."

Oh come on, these 3 names remind of colors pretty directly. Penny: Pennies are bronze. Ironwood: A freaking tree, and if you slice it in half you get Iron and Wood, which remind of colors themselves. Sun: our Sun looks yellow from Earth, more orange in space, most people associate it with the former color.
Basically, these are direct examples of "makes you think of a color". I don't see any problems with these names. You think of a Penny, you think of bronze. You think of Ironwood, you think of a tree and thus brown, or wood and thus brown, or Iron and thus grey. You think of Sun, you think of yellow if not orange.
What other colors would these names remind you of?
Also, since you mention that Team PEAK….let me take a moment, for that thing is painful….
-"Team PEAK is my own creation, which is why they don’t follow Monty’s naming color scheme because I’m an idiot. *I thought it was just Team RWBY that followed that strictly and the occasional other character like Emerald. *". <-Right at the beginning.
-The team acronym does not follow the CNR either, when it should.
-Also, the team theme is the most stupid atempt at being creative. "Ancient greek gods that personified something". Nearly all Greek gods personified something! (Of course, what can one expect from Tumblr…).
Continuing…
Monty made the CNR because the Color Naming is an actual thing in Remnant, a tradition. It would go against canon to make an OC that doesn't have a color name without any justification for it.
One color name can still be creative and fit the CNR easily, in the same way you want. It's just a matter of thinking. Then again, why put so much effort into creativity when we got color names like "Scarlet" and "Emerald".
"It’s unreasonable to ask fans to follow a rule that the show’s writers only follow half the time anyway."
"Only half the time"….proof? Last time I checked, they all followed CNR, even if they weren't always called by the color name (Junior). The only exception being Ozpin, for spoilers, and Salem, who's kind of a stretch (and has no reason to follow it either).
Funny you mention Ozpin and Salem. I was wondering, they both know each other, at least implied. Cinder also knows Salem and just refers to as "her". Guessing the age of Salem/Ozpin would take so much time, ourselves would become older than them once we finished with that. So how about Cinder's origin story? We got some clues about what did she do to get to the point where we met her, but nothing about her true origins. Where did she come from? What's her relation with Salem? How did they meet? Who's her mother? (So we would know who was that bitch, dared to give birth to a shitchild like Cinder.) And most importantly. What are her true intentions? Cause heck, they can try to shove down my throat that she just wants to be the "strongest of all!" but I will not believe a word of it!
Everything visible has a color. That doesn't mean invoking its name is the same as invoking its color. What about Ozpin and Salem? They're supposed to be the ones who "don't follow the rule," but you can still connect them to color using the rule's absurdly abstract guidelines. Ozpin reminds me of green because of the Emerald City and Salem=witches=black hats and robes. Yes, there are far too many characters for all of them to be based on something historical, mythological, or literary, but at the same time, we shouldn't have to pretend that every one of them is based on a color when they clearly are not. The name Glynda Goodwitch is based on a character from The Wizard of Oz. It has nothing to do with the color white. Fan works are supposed to be about taking the source material in a new direction. An arbitrary rule like "name OCs after a thing with a color" only hinders that.

-Yeah, well, here's how that rule works: The object reminds of a color directly or sub-directly. But if the way it does is not directly or sub-directly, or it's plain and simple a stretch, then you failed.
Example: "Stab because a stab wound causes bleeding which reminds of blood which is red" = Failed.
"Blade because most blades are silver-colored" = Failed.
"Neopolitan because Neapolitan Ice Cream, made of vanilla, chocolate and strawberry, which are white, brown and pink respectively" = Success.
-About Salem, I remember someone saying something about witches, though it felt not-direct-enough to fit CNR IMO. Though I personally don't bother thinking too much about how Salem could fit CNR, because she doesn't need to (and I think it's more fitting for her to not fit CNR).
-Ah, yes…"Glynda means Fair-Skinned, which means Pale-Skinned, in other words white". I remember Maki mentioning it from time to time. Honestly, I'm not sure if it's true, so I can't say much. Though I don't see what the basis for the name has to do with anything.
-"fan works are supposed to be about taking the source material in a new direction". I'll remember that next time I see someone making a generic super OP Gary Stu that drug-rapes all girls and their mothers and they love him back, and breaks all the rules of canon in the meantime.
Remember, taking the source in a new direction does not mean to go against canon. The Color Naming is an actual cultural thing in Remnant, and any OC that doesn't follow it is going against canon unless they justify it. Want examples of how to do it?
1) OC's parents deliberately wanted to go against tradition.
2) OC is not from the kingdoms and thus Color Naming was not part of their culture.
3) OC is from before the CNR was established in Remnant.
And honestly, the "reminds of a color" rule actually helps, because otherwise our and their options would be way too limited, and would make OC naming even more of a pain. Now, was the CNR a good idea? Not sure, on one hand it's creative, on the other hand creative does not equal good. (Though I find how it makes things more restrictive hilariously ironic…).

Salem is Ozpin's Yandere ex-girlfriend from high school. "I've made more mistakes than any man, woman or child".
Cinder's origins…she said she wanted to be stronger, feared…I feel she was the "weak and easily opressed by others" kind of person. Probably got bullied a lot, or something. These kinds of people always love to one day bring a weapon and cause chaos.
What's her relation to Salem? ….Salem made her strong and feared. That's…pretty much it, apparently. Either she's a loyal pawn of Salem, or she does whatever the hell she wants and Salem's fine with it because it's one of those "whatever she does helps me" plans.
"Her true intentions"? Considering Salem, likely the same as the Grimm: Kill everyone.
(PS: Why do people ignore the Enter button so badly? It only wants some friends….).
I don't like to waste time on formatting a wall of text, unless it's neccessary. And besides, this way you can find out who's actually reading your post or who's just rushing through it. Anyway, as for Salem, she's:
A) A Grimm
B) Probably older than the CNR by like 10,000 years or so. And…
C) She's probably from another realm of the reality.

I read CNR as NCR.
I was very confused. And I still don't know what CNR means so I am confused still but anyways.
If our theory about Ozpin being super old is true, then Salem is likely just as old, but as for her origin and what she is…
While I wouldn't bat an eye lash at her being from Hell or the void or whatever, it seems a little out there. Different dimension is usually a major plot point in these things, and we've seen neither heads nor tails of it so far. While that could change easily, we've got nothing to go off of for it so far.
And for what she is… categorizing her as a Grimm seems like we're skipping a beat. If that makes sense. The only Grimm we've seen so far have been monster or animal based and Salem is human. There's no link between the two. We're missing something, or several somethings. If I had to hazard a guess, she's something else entirely. A god? A demon? A angel? A great one? A ghost? We can't say until we know more. Knowledge that is likely going to come at a price for the heroes, but that's another topic.
I ask again the question, I asked several times so far. Why the grimms are called the Creatures of Grimm. And now I answer it, the Creatures of Grimm, aren't Grimms. Sure they are called Grimms but just to be easier to call out. Although I'm pretty sure we all heard the story of the Boy who cried Beowulf. But technically what we see are just some mobs created by Grimm to destroy humans, what purpose? We don't know. But one thing sure, Salem is a Grimm. The creatures? Ain't!
Oh, well. I had completely glossed over that they are the Creatures of Grimm and not just Grimm. That is defiantly an interesting distinction to make; one that I can't remember seeing anywhere else. There has to be something to that.
It's possible that no one (except maybe Ozpin) in the RWBY universe remembers why that distinction exists and think of the creatures as Grimm. They've forgotten that there is something behind them because it's been hidden for so long.

Or perhaps they are all Grimm, Salem is just an advanced type of Grimm so old no one even remembers her, and people call them Grimm instead of "creatures of Grimm" because it's the same damn thing but much simpler. Like calling Huntsmen and Huntresses "Hunters".
Though part of me wants that to be jossed, because it reminds me too much of Bleach and it's Arrancars. And FF.net has already made me sick of "Grimm Arrancars".
Grimm Arrancars, wtf! Anyway, yeah that's what I think too. Just this still a thing, I doubt Salem is the only human grimm. And also who's Grimm, I mean we are talking about his creatures now.
If we assume Grimm is "something", I see it this way: Creatures of Grimm carries the same meaning as Creatures of Darkness or Creatures of Evil.
My headcanon is rather: Grimm is a diety. Born from darkness and evil. But he isn't on Remnant or it's Shadow Realm version where (according to my other headcanon) Grimms are from. I believe Grimms humans within the shadow realm are able to travel from planet to planet. However that's energy cosuming stuff, I say their power source is Aura. But since Grimms has no soul, they can't generate Aura, so what they do? They send down their shadow material pets, the Creatures to harvest souls. It makes sense, right?
I was agreeing with that headcanon….until you said they were able of traveling from planet to planet.
Yeah I would like to see, that's why not the case? They aren't using dust, they use aura, heck I wouldn't be surprised if it turns out Pyrrha's soul is the fuel in Salem's gardener's lawnmower.

HEADS-UP:
RWBY Volume 3 Soundtrack is now available on Google Play
RWBY: Grimm Eclipse Update is out soon
Okay it's time for…. Lyric analyzing with Penny!
So literally I'm doing nothing all day just listen to Vol3 soundtracks and try to make sense of them, just to mention from the scores parts the Winter vs Qrow is the best! Anyway lets see what we have here: When It Falls, the opening song of Volume 3, let's dig!
Maybe red's like roses?
Maybe it's the pool of blood
The innocents will lay in
When in the end you've failed to save them?
Their dying eyes
Are wide and white like snow
And now they know
The cost of trusting you's obliteration
I guess this part is a reference to Ruby, not because the red like roses but because the "When in the end you've failed to save them?" part. Ruby just failed to save Pyrrha, also failed to save Penny (Yeah third person referencing cause it's more fluent that way and better to understand). But this line also could reference Jaune, as he also failed to protect Pyrrha. But it could also reference Ironwood as he was supposed to protect everyone, but he ultimately failed, what more he himself almost died too!
Mirrors will shatter
Crushed by the weight of the world
The pillars collapse in shame
"Mirrors will shatter", well that's something related to Weiss, "crushed by the weight of the world", definietly, this makes no sense at all! At least for now, probably something will happen to Weiss. "The pillars collapse in shame", guess this line is a reference to the four pillars, the CCT towers, but since one is already destroyed, therefore the whole system is wrecked no reason to destroy the remaining 3, unless you want total victory over humanity.
Kingdoms in tatters
Hung on the brink of a war
The peace will succumb to flames
Obvious right? There will be a war, however as Ironwood said: "Not a war between nations", even if the lyrics just shouting "war between each other", that's wrong, right? We can trust Ironwood right? Well……
Their iron gloves point fingers
They'll wage a war of blame
And mankind will wilt in pain
"Iron gloves", funny right? I guess this "Iron glove" just "point fingers" at the General. Anyway let's take a step back now cause I just skipped a verse for this little clue.
They play the part of allies
Claiming peace their only goal
But once the fight for power starts
They'll eat each other whole
Again, our loveable general just seems kinda naughgty, no? Afterall his ships are supposed to bring happiness, da? However, what if this time not Ozzy's bros gonna fight for power, but some new villians pop up to challange Keikaku mistress, and ship sinker resident, Cinder fall?
Well that's all I could make out, tomorrow will try other pieces too, for now, I'm waiting for your opinions.
OMG, I didn't know the OST for volume 3 was out until I read it in this thread.
Finally, I've been waiting for this.
Speaking of lyrics…I swear, this is what I hear everytime I listen to I'm The One.
I'm the one
That was born in a nightmare, a miko and her son
Candle Gold
But I gleam like a blade and I'm harder than iron
I'm the runt
Who mused out of filth and stopped by Norway
Delusion
I'll steal til your blind and defeat you from inside your mind
(And later…)
I'm the one
That was ripped from the earth and exposed to the sun
On the run
By the hate and the beatings, defiled by a bird (< don't think about that part too much)
I thought about that part, LiveandSound. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Anyways, I think Penny's on point with most of it, and I think I can proved insight into "Crushed by the weight of the world" part.
Being crushed by the weight of the world is usually a metaphor (or is a simile?) for taking on too much responsibility and breaking because of it. The person is overwhelmed by the amount and intensity of tasks at hand and can't deal with it.
It's also related to Atlas's story, the titan who held up the world.
Wiess is from Atlas and she's the heiress of the Schnee Dust company. There has to be a relation That's how she gets too much responsibility and that's how she'll break.
^If that happens to Weiss, then I want her to start acting like her father, then mid-season stop, reflect, and realize how she's been acting, along with realizing the amount of stressful stuff her father has to deal with, without including the WF and family/worker's deaths.
So I was kinda bored and checked out this Ninjas of Love. This is what I found:
Ninjas of Love by Patty Berdioler
“No shadows can conceal the lust of one enigma for long…”
When a young woman abandons the comforts of where she was bound to have an easy life but (…) willed and self-absorbed to see past her petty … realize how lucky she was, she runs away to (…) where she becomes ninja.
Little does she know that over the years she has been watched from the shadows by a ninja master, a lone enigma that haunts the darkness of the night itself. What happens when our young woman is ensnared by the heat of this shadowy man…?
So basically this is an erotic ninja Dōjinshi, from the straight kind. And I was sitting here hoping it's a yaoi dōjin, meh!
My headcanon was also yaoi. Don't know why.
Oh y'know probably cause ninjas, when it comes to ninjas most people imagine a guy dressed in black with a katana. Also funny but noticed Ninjas of Love probably doesn't play on Remnant, if you check the cover there are at least 5 moons, Remnant has only one.

Eh. It probably still includes a lot of gay subtext. I’m pretty sure that's a requirement for steamy romance novels nowadays.

A fantasy world in a fantasy world? Fantasy-ception.

Maybe our world is a fantasy world too. Perhaps we are all just a story in a world that doesn't have water or insects.
If so, the writers have a sick sense of humour.
