Technically, he never did any one thing that "crossed the line" at least in way everyone would agree upon.
The problem was mainly was that the frequency of which he rustled the jimmies of the forum users.
He wasn't what I would consider a troll, because it wasn't getting a rise out of people that seemed to be his primary "agenda".
That said, he wasn't exactly faultless-- after enough negative responses, most people stop doing whatever behavior that was rustling jimmies, at least for a while (if they predicted that their actions may not go over well, but decided to risk it anyway, like grimmore) or try to figure out what they did wrong (if you're a bit slow when it comes to social matters, like myself).
Perhaps it was ignorance, perhaps it was arrogance, I won't pretend to know, but regardless, Epyc Wyn seemed unwilling or incapable of considering criticism against him. So, he kept up the behavior basically constantly.
In essence, it was almost like having a younger sibling-- someone who doesn't want to hurt anyone but still enjoys doing their own annoying thing, despite pleas to do things differently.
That said, he is demonized to some extent. He definitely had some good points. He was outgoing (you should see his wall), hard-working (even if he liked parading around his success a bit too much), occasionally helpful (even if he went too far at times), and while he had some issues when it came to interacting with the community, I genuinely believe he was a good person.
For example, about a month ago there were some allegations of him being a pedo (which were completely false) I try to intervene by clarifying things with what I learned on the ED doxing (or doxxing, I forget which) thread. I proved he wasn't a pedo, but I still didn't exactly paint him in the best light, and I'm not going to make the same mistake by going into depth about that any further.
Despite that, he was kind enough to post something nice on my wall, which I really appreciated, since I'm not very outgoing and as a result get a crazy huge number of posts on my wall (which I only have myself to blame.)
TL;DR version:
He never genuinely harassed people, he was just annoying. And while most people eventually calm down or cross the line and get banned, he managed to avoid falling into either category, even after months of minor, but frequent, acts of jimmy rustling. Eventually people just ran out of patience.
That said, he had good qualities as well that sometimes get glossed over and are a good part of the reason he managed to get away without a ban for so long, whereas other users like FunnyMemebro or CalculatorFetishist got the boot within a month or two, instead of nearly a year.
