Agent Hitler, FBI refers to a series of reaction images and image macros featuring a screenshot from the Australian comedy television series Danger 5 in which the character Adolf Hitler holds up a badge and says, "Agent Hitler, FBI."

Origin

On January 11th, 2015, the second episode of the second season of the comedy television series Danger 5 aired on SBS.[1] In the episode, Hitler, the series antagonist[2] played by Carmine Russo,[11] poses as an FBI agent to evade the authorities and blame a disaster on the show's heroes (shown below)




Spread

Two days later, on January 13th, 2015, a gif of the moment appeared on Imgur, [3] where it received more than 1,000 views. A still image of the moment appeared on the site[4] again the following year, on April 26th, 2016, received more than 900 points and 800 views.


Agent Hitler, FBI

On February 2nd, 2015, an anonymous 4chan [5] user posted the image in a thread about disguises on the /tg/ board. They captioned the post (shown below) "This is how I roll disguise." The image has been seen as a reaction image on other 4chan boards, such as /pol/ [9] and /v/ [10]

The following year, on September 29th, 2016, the Facebook account worldmemedatabase [6] posted the image, receiving more than 90 reactions and 15 shares in one year.

Less than a year later, on August 7th, 2017, Twitter [7] user @CJM156156 tweeted the image with the caption ">When you're doing an evil playthrough of an RPG but the main quest railroads you into being good." The post (shown below) received more than 3,400 retweets and 7,400 likes 14 months.

Several months later, Redditor [8] StupidDizzyMedicine shared the image on the /r/dankmemes subreddit, where it received more than 29,000 points (95% upvoted) and 400 comments.
