Apollo's Gift Of Prophecy Dodgeball refers to a reaction image created by object-labeling a stock image of several girls playing dodgeball. The image depicts one girl labeled as "Apollo" throwing a red dodgeball labeled as "the gift of prophecy" at her friends, who are labeled as "random internet users just trying to be comedic." The meme is often used on Tumblr used to describe the recurring tendency of internet users to make jokes about something that eventually happens to come true.
Origin
The stock image of a group of girls playing dodgeball was first uploaded to the internet in 2014, and a watermarked version of the image can be accessed on Getty Images[1] (seen below).
The meme labeling various people and objects in the above image as Apollo, the gift of prophecy and random internet users was first uploaded by Tumblr[2] user @svere-online on November 6th, 2020 (seen below).

On January 7th, 2021, Tumblr[5] user @angelgirlangie81 posted the Apollo's Dodegball meme in reply to an older post that read, "congress truly does not hold enough fear in their hearts :)))))," gathering over 40,000 notes in two years (seen below, left). On February 24th, 2021, Tumblr[6] user @tokai-teio posted the Apollo's Dodgeball meme in reply to a post that seemingly predicted Daft Punk's breakup, gathering over 40,000 notes in two years (seen below, right).
On April 24th, 2022, Urban Dictionary[7] user TheNewbornDeity posted a definition for the term "Apollo's Dodgeball," calling it an "internet phenomenon most commonly observed on tumblr in which a random internet user will make a post in jest, only for that post to come true."
On June 21st, 2023, Tumblr[8] user @jaewul posted a meme showing a statue of Apollo holding a dodgeball, gathering over 60,000 notes in a month (seen below).
