Bhocolate Bhip Bookies is a mispronunciation and purposeful misspelling of "chocolate chip cookies" popularized through a series of 2015 Vine skits by Fresh 215 aka Cashier Fresh in which a boy playing a Blood member pronounces words incorrectly by starting them with "B," referencing how members of the Bloods street gang replace the letter "C" with "B" in certain words and the overuse of the B Emoji as a meme. Memes using the mispronunciation and referencing the Vines continued to spread throughout the late 2010s. In 2020, rapper Armanibanz made a rap song using the phrase "bhocolate bhip bookies, those are not edibles" that went viral on TikTok. The phrase saw another increase in popularity on TikTok and YouTube in 2023 following the popularity of a viral video where a man orders bhocolate bhip bookies and a large boke through the McDonald's drive-thru, inspiring lip dubs and animations using the video's audio.

Origin

As early as 2013, memes referencing the Bloods street gang replacing the first letter of certain words that begin with a "C" with a "B," such as turning "cool" into "bool," became increasingly popular.^[1] One of the earliest memes to reference this is an image macro posted by X^[2] user @kyengineerin on February 9th, 2013 and Tumblr^[3] user black-jedi on April 6th (shown below).

In 2015, Vine users, in particular Fresh 215 aka Cashier Fresh, began posting skits where a boy playing a member of the Bloods forces another boy to start saying words beginning with "C" with "B," with one video featuring the phrase "bhocolate bhip bookies." Compilations of these videos were uploaded to YouTube^[4][5] by shawdibwoi and Miracle Hampton on March 2nd, 2015 and December 14th, 2016 respectively, garnering over 100,000 views and 29,000 views respectively in eight years (shown below, left and right).

On September 1st, 2016, the Worldstar Hip Hop Facebook^[6] page posted an image macro of some red cookies, referencing the color of the Bloods, captioned "bhocolat bhip bookies," garnering over 16,000 shares and 18,000 reactions in seven years (shown below).

"Bhocolate Bhip Bookies, Those Are Not Edibles" Rap Song By Armanibanz

On August 26th, 2020, rapper ArmaniBanz posted a song to SoundCloud^[15] where he uses the phrase, "Bhocolate bhip bookies, those are not edibles," titled "TikTokers," garnering over a million plays in three years. Prior to the full release, the rapper posted a video previewing the song to TikTok^[16] on August 5th (shown below).

The original sound was used over 10,000 times over the next three years, largely in videos using the song as an example of a bad rap song (examples shown below).

Bhocolate Bhip Bookies and a Large Boke

On January 23rd, 2023, YouTuber^[7] Munchies uploaded a video of a person, possibly TikToker @tonkaboyyyy, ordering "bhocolate bhip bookies" and other items mispronounced with a "B" from McDonald's, garnering over 62,000 views in 10 months (shown below). It was also uploaded by TikToker^[8] @yomommasplug1 on January 28th, garnering over 7.2 million views in the same span of time.

On September 26th, TikToker^[9] @tonkaboyyyy posted a video using the same audio featuring a different angle, claiming it's a "throwback," suggesting he might be the originator of the video, garnering over 3.2 million views in just over a month (shown below).

On October 8th, TikToker^[10] @stuffgg0 posted a fiber optic cable core video featuring a remix of the video's audio, garnering over 18 million views in a month (shown below, left). TikTokers began posting animations under the original sound. For example, on October 13th, TikToker^[11] @frogto_ posted an animation that gained over 300,000 views in a month (shown below, right).

On October 14th, TikToker^[12] @jimmywhopper5 posted an Adventure Time animation using the audio from the fiber optic cable core video, garnering over 3.7 million views in a month (shown below).

The original sound for the video was used over 13,000 times over the next month in lip dub videos. For example, on October 30th, TikToker^[13] @vanecitt posted a video that gained over 2.3 million views in four days (shown below, left). On November 1st, TikToker^[14] @4nel3 posted a video that gained over 2.6 million views in two days (shown below, right).
