The Big Sean Nintendo Switch Leak is a photograph allegedly leaked from rapper Big Sean's "Close Friends" Instagram Story in which he is shown measuring his penis against a Nintendo Switch console. The leak was posted online in February 2022 and gained viral spread on social media, inspiring reactions and memes, including posts comparing the size of Sean's penis to the measurements of a Switch console. Big Sean later denied that the photo was his. Purportedly, the photo actually originates from a post to the now-closed subreddit /r/ChurchOfTheBBC that was posted by Redditor u/prettyassgoon sometime in 2021. In July 2024, Sean appeared in a man-on-the-street interview video on TikTok in which he seemed to suggest, likely as a joke, that he did take the photo, renewing interest in the alleged leak. It is possible Big Sean mentioned the leak and took claim of it to help promote his upcoming book and album.

Origin

On February 26th, 2022, an image allegedly showing Big Sean measuring his penis next to a Nintendo Switch console was leaked online (shown below, censored). Purportedly, the image was posted by Sean to his Close Friends Instagram Story, with the screenshot supporting this theory. It is unclear who first leaked the photograph.

The leak was reported by SportsKeeda^[1] on February 27th, which also shared a dead link to the Instagram page theshaderoom. The SportsKeeda article also provides a screenshot of a comment left by Big Sean under the post denying that it is his penis in the photograph, reading, "This is not me."

The photo does not appear to have been taken by Big Sean. Sometime in 2021, Redditor u/prettyassgoon posted the photo to the subreddit /r/ChurchOfTheBBC, a now-banned and closed subreddit, in a post titled, "THATS A BIG ASS NINTENDO SWITCH." On February 26th, 2022, X^[2] user @Ali22761746 shared a screenshot of this post as evidence of that fact (shown below, censored). Seemingly, the Instagram account was banned and the "Close Friends" symbol was added to the photo later for the "leak."

Spread

The image went viral on February 27th, 2022, purportedly making the term "Big Sean" trend on X / Twitter. That day, users began reacting to it and posting memes. For example, X^[3] user @XephiroX posted a meme that day, which gained over 1,700 likes in two years (shown below).

Word of the image also went viral on TikTok. That day, TikToker^[4] @jadyn.ashon posted a video in which they Google the size of a Nintendo Switch to determine the size of Sean's penis, which appears to be at least the same length as the console, with the Google search showing that a Switch is 9.4 inches long, garnering over 40,000 views in two years (shown below, left).

On the same day, TikToker^[5] @tallchilo posted a video holding his Switch captioned, "I can't even look at my Switch no more after seeing Big Sean's Switch," garnering over 1.2 million views in two years (shown below, right).

On March 14th, 2022, TikToker^[6] @michellevillafilipina posted a video making reference to the leak, writing in the description, "pls tell me u get this big sean reference," garnering over 300,000 views in two years (shown below).

2024 Ted Zhar Interview

On July 21st, 2024, TikToker^[7] @tedzhar posted a man-on-the-street interview video in which he walks with and interviews Big Sean, garnering over 126,000 views in two days (shown below). At the start of the interview, the TikToker asks Big Sean what he does for a living and he answers, "I'm actually a p--n star. Google 'Big Sean Nintendo Switch,' man."

The clip gained viral spread online, renewing interest in the leak. For example, on July 22nd, X^[8] user @FearedBuck shared the interview clip, writing, "Big Sean seemingly confirms it was his d*ck that got leaked 2 years ago on his close friends on Instagram," garnering over 41,000 likes in a day. On July 23rd, Hot New Hip Hop^[9] reported on the interview.

Although Sean seemed to claim the photo depicts him, the evidence seems to say that the photo is not actually Big Sean's. It is plausible that Sean is trying to make the photo go viral to help promote his upcoming album and book, which he also talks about in the interview.
