About

Blue Egg Yolk Speedruns refers to a Photoshop speedrun trend where internet users change egg yolks in pictures of sunny-side fried eggs from orange or yellow to blue. The trend appeared online after X user @multimodalart posted a tweet promoting their AI image generation model "qwen-image," by claiming that "very few models can do things like 'a fried egg with a blue yolk.'" Several internet users and graphic designers pushed back on the need to use AI for simple tasks like changing the hue of an egg yolk, with X user @IsThisA3DModel claiming, "you can do this in Photoshop in like 30 seconds." This led to several internet users posting videos of them speedrunning egg yolk edits on Photoshop and various internet photo-editing apps.
