Bone Tiddies is a phrase popular on Tumblr used in reference to an image of two fake skeletons laying next to each other and one has bones shaped like breasts to show that the skeletons belonged to a man and a woman. The image and phrase is meant to parody the sensitivity of homophobics who could be offended at the portrayal of a romantic relationship that is not explicitly heterosexual.

Origin

The image was first posted to Tumblr sometime in August of 2014 by user daemontool with the caption "straight people are terrifying they can go as far as to give the girl skeleton a pair of bone titties to indicate its a straight relationship." Though the original post has since been deleted, the earliest known reblog of the post was done on August 7th by user pinkglimmers (shown below).^[2] It has received over 283,000 notes.

On August 10th, the image was posted to 9GAG ^[1] with the title "They can go as far as to give the girl skeleton a pair of bone titties to indicate its a straight relationship." The post gained over 17,000 points in three years (shown below). A screenshot of the Tumblr post was posted to /r/ledootgeneration^[3] on January 15th, 2015, where it gained over 90 upvotes.

On December 10th, "bone tiddies" was included in a Playbuzz^[4] quiz to find out "What gay meme truly represents you?" Meanwhile, "Bone Tiddies" continued to be referenced in jokes on Tumblr, leading the page memearchives^[5] to cover its spread. On March 20th, 2017, Buzzfeed^[6] included "Bone Tiddies" in a listicle titled "23 Jokes About Straight People That Are Hilariously Accurate."
