Origin

On May 2nd, 2019, a Brad Pitt fan Facebook ^[1] page posted several photos of Pitt and DiCaprio from the promotion of Once Upon a Time in Hollywood (shown below). The post received me than 480 reactions in less than two years.

Spread

Months later, on October 23rd, 2019, Twitter ^[2] user @ZSwoles shared the image with the caption, "me showing the homies who i'm in love with this week." The post received more than 31,000 likes and 11,000 retweets in less than two years (shown below, left).

The following year, Twitter^[3] user @CauseWereGuys tweeted the image with the caption, "Dads showing other dads the ribs they grilled over the weekend." The tweet received more than 5,600 likes and 1,000 retweets in less than two years (shown below, center). The meme was later shared on Reddit, ^[4] where it received more than 101,000 points (96% upvoted) and 500 comments in less than two years, and iFunny, ^[5] where it received more than 65,000 reactions and 445 comments in less than two years.

On February 18th, Redditor ywnael shared a version in the /r/memes^[6] subreddit with the caption, "dad showing to another dad where gas is cheaper." The post received more than 46,000 points (97% upvoted) and 145 comments in less than two years (shown below, right).
