I Hit This Clip in X is a meme video series released by YouTuber and modder Brux in which various popular video games such as Subway Surfers, Minecraft and Mario Kart are imitated in Fortnite, with the final part of the video revealing that the clip is in fact from Fortnite. The videos usually end as the imitated gameplay is interrupted by speed building and a kill.

Origin

On September 1st, 2021, YouTuber[1] and Fortnite speed builder Brux uploaded a video titled "I Hit This Clip on a Piano.." in which he speed builds in Fortnite using a mouse and a piano keyboard. The video (shown below, left) received over 189,000 views in two years. On November 22nd, 2021, Brux uploaded a video titled "I Hit This Clip on my Stepsis.." using a modded version of Fortnite that received over 210,000 views on YouTube[2] in the same period (shown below, right).



On December 11th, 2021, Brux posted[3] his first viral video in the series, "Bob Ross Hit This Clip in Fortnite..," which received over 4.2 million views in two years (shown below).



Spread

On April 25th, 2022, Brux uploaded the first YouTube[4] video in the series that imitated the gameplay of another game. The video, titled "I Hit This Clip in Wii Sports.." which imitated the gameplay of Wii Sports before ending in speed building and a kill of Matt Mii. The video (shown below) received over 3.9 million views in one year.



In the following months, Brux posted multiple Fortnite videos that imitated the gameplay of various video games before unexpectedly transitioning into high-level Fortnite gameplay. For example, a video imitating Subway Surfers posted on June 27th, 2022, gained over 12 million views on YouTube[5] in one year (shown below).
