About

Froge also known as Worry Frog or Concerned Frog refers to a set of Discord emotes of a worried or concerned frog expressing various emotions, similar to Pepe emotes. The frog image comes from the now-inactive mobile game Froge, released in 2014 by Fandom Inc. and became popularized as a set of Discord emotes starting in 2020. In 2023, a Froge ChatGPT plugin launched.

Origin

On June 13th, 2014, Fandom Inc. released the free-to-play mobile game Froge on iOS and Android. Although the game is no longer available, its Google Play Store page, which includes in-game screenshots, was archived by the Wayback machine.[1] The app icon is a frog with a concerned look on its face (shown below).

A trailer for the game was uploaded to YouTube by Fandom Inc. on June 17th, 2014, garnering over 2,300 views in nine years (shown below). The APK file for the game is available through APKCombo.com.[5]

Spread

Numerous examples of Froge as emotes were uploaded to Discadia[2] and Stickers.cloud[3] starting in 2020 (examples shown below). On March 25th, 2023, a Redditor posted a screenshot of several ChatGPT plugins to /r/ChatGPT,[4] including the Froge Plugin, garnering over 1,500 upvotes in five days.
