"Cheeky Boy" Ronaldo is a series of memes based on a clip from an interview with pro footballer Cristiano Ronaldo, in which he calls the interviewer a "cheeky boy."

The clip comes from a LiveScore video uploaded to YouTube in April 2023. The clip became the subject of memes as early as 2023 on Instagram Reels.

In late August 2026, the clip resurfaced on TikTok and further became the subject of memes, in which an animal is shown doing something inappropriate before cutting to the clip of Ronaldo. The memes often include a caption about someone transforming into an animal.

Origin

On April 8th, 2023, the LiveScore YouTube^[1] channel uploaded an interview with football player Cristiano Ronaldo where he must answer true or false questions about his career. At the 04:05 timestamp, he is asked whether or not he has kicked a ball faster than 100km/h. Ronaldo answers "true." The interviewer tells him that the answer he has is "false," but Ronaldo refutes the claim. The interviewer claims he asked the question wrong and that Ronaldo actually is correct. Ronaldo then laughs and says, "Cheeky boy."

On April 13th 2023, Instagram^[2] user pedrifiedmemes posted a meme that uses the clip under the caption, "The PE teacher after seeing the senior rizzing up the grade 9 girls," garnering over 175,000 likes in three years. This is one of the earliest known memes to use the clip.

The "Cheeky Boy" Ronaldo clip continued to inspire memes over the following years as it spread online.

On July 10th, 2025, Instagram^[3] user jack4football posted a meme using the clip, gaining over 356,000 likes in a year.

In late August 2026, the clip resurfaced on TikTok and became the subject of further memes.

For example, on August 28th, 2026, TikToker^[4] @aesthetichub255 posted a meme captioned, "When bro transforms into a cat and thinks I won't notice," followed by a clip of a cat trying to get into someone's pants, then the Ronaldo clip, garnering over 10.3 million views in just under two weeks.

On September 2nd, TikToker^[5] @donotdisturb1224 posted a version of the meme that uses clips of apes, garnering over 400,000 views in six days.

That day, TikToker^[6] @notfelix3355 posted a similar meme using a clip of a horse, garnering over 5.8 million views in six days.
