Clutterfunk Cat is a series of memes pairing a possibly photoshopped or AI-generated image of an angry cat-human hybrid with the song "Clutterfunk" from Geometry Dash. The image of the cat was first posted online as early as August 2024, with the "Clutterfunk" memes becoming popularized on TikTok in February 2025.

Origin

The exact origins of the Clutterfunk cat image are unclear. On July 26th, 2024, Facebook1] user Akiyama Midnight posted an image of what appears to be a cat-human hybrid made using a selfie, garnering roughly 89 likes in six months. This is the earliest known user to post the image. It is unclear if it was created using Photoshop, or with AI.

On October 30th, Instagram[2] user vsratyez reposted the image, garnering over 273,000 likes in four months.

On January 24th, 2025, TikToker[3] @skibidikamol posted a slideshow starting with a Spanish chart explaining "cat language," followed by the image of the cat, set to "Clutterfunk" from Geometry Dash,[4] garnering over 1.7 million views in three weeks. This is the earliest known example of the meme.

The meme garnered viral spread on TikTok throughout February 2025. On February 3rd, 2025, TikToker[5] @goobygoofbert posted a meme similar to the original that begins with a cat emotion chart, followed by a blown-out version of the Clutterfunk cat, garnering over 3.5 million views in a week.

On February 8th, TikToker[6] @woilahcikreaksigw posted a video in which they create a portrait of the Clutterfunk cat in Minecraft, garnering over 2 million views in four days.
