Spread

The post experienced a surge in popularity in January 2025, inspiring posts parodying the original with other actors, people and characters. For example, on January 28th, 2025, X^[2] user @AWHlTENIGHT posted a photoshop of the K-pop group Red Velvet with one eye, garnering over 3,000 likes in three days.

On January 29th, X^[3] user @frankiefeyy quote-reposted the original post, writing, "post this to deviantart and watch what happens," garnering over 68,000 likes in two days.

Later that day, X^[4] user @sinclairbian posted two images from It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia of Liam McPoyle with an eyepatch versus without, writing, "do you prefer liam with one eye or two eyes?" garnering over 5,600 likes in two days.
