Do You Regret What You Did? Nah is a video caption meme format in which the character Sumo from the animated series Clarence fills in a behavior report, writing down that he does not regret what he did and would do it again. In July 2023, the format achieved virality on TikTok and iFunny via memes in which on-screen text was overlaid on the scene.
Origin
On July 31st, 2014, episode 15 of season one of the animated series Clarence premiered on Cartoon Network.[1] In the opening scene of the episode, the character Sumo is in Mr. Reese's detention class, answering questions on a behavior worksheet honestly. On August 5th, Cartoon Network YouTube channel uploaded the clip to YouTube,[2] where it earned over 540,000 views in nine years (shown below).
Do you regret what you did? Nah. Would you do it again. Sure, why not! This test is easy!
On May 20th, 2023, TikToker[3] @milesishomo posted a video caption meme based on the clip, captioning the video, "me after my character ai chats get leaked." The video (shown below, left) is the earliest found meme based on the format, which gained over 2,600 likes and 390 likes in two months. On May 21st, TikToker[4] @fazball_enjoyer posted a version that received over 37,900 views and 2,200 likes (shown below, right).

On May 26th, 2023, TikToker[5] @macthe_weirdo2 posted a meme based on the format that received over 1,200 views and 220 likes in two months (shown below, left). On May 27th, @machte_weirdo2 uploaded[6] a template for the meme, with the upload gaining over 13,600 and 460 likes views in the same period.
The format started gaining more traction online in late June 2023. For example, on June 27th, 2023, TikToker[7] @ricodtheog_00 posted a meme that received over 2.6 million views and 450,000 likes in one month (shown below, right).

More video caption memes based on the format went viral on TikTok in July 2023. Starting in mid-July 2023, the format also spread to iFunny. For example, on July 19th, 2023, iFunny[8] user Nimitz19 posted a meme that received over 8,800 smiles in five days (shown below).
