Dog in Jeep With Head Up, also known as Blissful Golden Retriever In Car, is a reaction image of a golden retriever dog riding in a Jeep with its head up and its eyes closed as if enjoying the drive. The photo was posted to X / Twitter in December 2023 and went viral over the following months as an image macro and caption format, usually posted alongside captions about being blissful, listening to music or using the dog to represent a feeling of joy.

Origin

On December 23rd, 2023, X[1] user @stackztootrill posted a photograph of a dog riding in a Jeep on a sunny day with its head in the air and its eyes closed as if enjoying the car ride, garnering over 7,400 likes in two months (shown below). This is the earliest known instance that the photo was posted.



Spread

The photo gained viral spread over the following months. On December 23rd, 2023, it was reposted to the @contextdogs X[2] page, garnering over 50,000 likes in two months. On December 26th, X[3] user @__Curtdoggg posted the image alongside the caption, "Me when 'Aston Martin' by Rick Ross starts playing," garnering over 13,000 likes in the same span of time (shown below). On December 28th, the image was included in a compilation of "The 50 Best Animal Tweets Of The Year" by Cheezburger.[4]

On January 27th, 2024, the image was posted to the subreddit /r/puppy,[5] garnering over 340 upvotes in a month. On February 6th, Threads[6] user @f7oz posted the photo with the caption "mood," garnering over 5,000 likes in three weeks. On February 25th, X[7] user @RlCKYRAGE posted it, captioned, "me when american teenager comes on," garnering over 4,200 likes in two days (shown below, left).

That day, Redditor u/sushiluvr98 posted the photo to /r/Lorde[7] writing, "this is what it feels like to listen to solar power," garnering over 200 upvotes in two days (shown below, right). On the same day, X[8] user @GxldSociety posted the image using the same caption as @__Curtdoggg about Rick Ross' song "Aston Martin" playing, garnering over 94,000 likes in two days.
