Drake Singing "Money For Fun" refers to memes and jokes about rapper Drake's supposedly overly excited delivery of the line "money for fun" in the song "IDGAF" featuring Yeat. Jokes about Drake's supposedly "zesty" or "sassy" delivery of the line, which interrupts Yeat's performance of the song's chorus, began spreading on TikTok soon after the song's release on October 6th, 2023 as part of Drake's album For All The Dogs.
Origin
On October 6th, 2023, rapper Drake released his album For All The Dogs, which contained a song titled "IDGAF" featuring Yeat. The song's chorus had Yeat singing the line, "say whatever I want, yeah, I do whatever I want, huh/ I'm countin' up money for fun," with Drake chiming in on the line "money for fun" in a higher pitched voice.[1]
Jokes about Drake's delivery of the line began to spread soon after the album's release, with people finding his interruption out of place or jarring. TikToker[2] @jjoshtf posted a video joking about their reaction to Drake on the track on October 6th, 2023, gathering over 300,000 plays and 21,000 likes in five days (seen below).
