Eagle 500kg Bomb is a stratagem in the 2024 video game _"Helldivers II":https://knowyourmeme.com/memes/helldivers-2. A powerful singular explosive charged dropped by air support, Eagle 500kg Bomb deals exceptional damage in a small area. Online, the stratagem code used to request the bomb drop, ⬆️➡️⬇️⬇️⬇️ (Up, Right, Down, Down, Down / Up Arrow, Right Arrow, Three Down Arrows), achieved popularity as a reaction and has been used as part of I'm Not Gonna Sugarcoat It and other memes. On September 12th, 2025, it was revealed in a press conference that the stratagem code was inscribed into an unfired bullet casing belonging to Tyler Robinson, the man suspected to have killed Charlie Kirk.
Origin
On February 8th, 2024, multiplayer video game Helldivers II was released. The game features a stratagem system, with players able to equip up to four abilities for a mission.
The single-use Eagle 500kg Bomb stratagem calls in a powerful singular explosive charge dropped at the selected location.[1] The charge deals enormous damage to enemies and buildings within a small area (demonstration video shown below). The Eagle 500kg Bomb call-in sequence is Up, Right, Down, Down, Down.
On February 11th, 2024, Redditor BigOrganization posted the earliest discovered meme which featured the code, a With This Treasure I Summon… meme that received over 1,500 upvotes in /r/Helldivers on Reddit[2] one month (shown below).

More memes referencing the Eagle 500kg Bomb through use of its stratagem code were shared online in the following days. Notably, on February 11th, 2024, Redditor ggsnack posted an I'm Not Gonna Sugarcoat It meme that received over 50 upvotes in /r/Helldivers[3] in one month and was widely circulated online[4] in the following weeks (shown below, left). On February 17th, Redditor julchk posted another version of the I'm Not Gonna Sugarcoat It meme that garnered over 2,600 upvotes in the subreddit[5] in three weeks (shown below, right).
More memes referencing the Eagle 500kg Strike were shared online through February 2024. For example, on February 21st, 2024, X[6] user @Devovas posted a "Nah, I'd win" fan art that garnered over 3,200 reposts and 25,000 likes in two weeks (shown below).
Charlie Kirk Shooter References Meme
In mid-September 2025, investigators found the bolt-action rifle used in the assassination of right-wing political commentator and Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk in the woods near Utah Valley University (UVU), where the shooting occurred.
According to reports,[7] messages were found on the bullet casings, one of which (the single round fired that killed Kirk) included the up arrow, right arrow and three down arrow symbols, a reference to the Eagle 500kg Bomb.
Other writings on the bullets included "Notices, bulges," "Hey fascist! Catch!", "O Bella Ciao, Bella Ciao" (an Italian song dedicated to the Italian resistance fighting against the occupying troops of Nazi Germany), "if you read this you are gay lmao" and "Up arrow symbol, right arrow symbol and three down arrow symbols," which is a reference to the Eagle 500kg Bomb meme.
