Pom, also known as "El chico que se parece mucho a Pomni" (Spanish: The boy who looks a lot like Pomni) is a genderbend version of Pomni from The Amazing Digital Circus.

First appeared in a Hornstromp animated video, the character gained notoriety after a summary of the animation generated a popular copypasta in Spanish-speaking communities.

Origin

On December 26, 2023, content-farm YouTube channel Hornstromp3DFNF^[1] uploaded the video "POMNI Falls in LOVE! The Amazing Digital Circus Animation" (shown below, left), in which the arrival of Pom to the Circus causes both Pomni and Ragatha to compete each other for his love, first by acquiring the latest Grand Theft Auto game and later by preparing food for him. On January 6, 2024, YouTube channel Hornstromp en Español^[2] uploaded a Spanish-dub of the video (shown below, right), which gained over 4 millon views in 2 weeks.

That same day, Mr Dracuss^[3] uploaded a video summary of the animation, which accumulated 6 millon views in 2 years (text below).

An animation shows us that the next member of Digital Circus will be a boy who looks a lot like Ponmi, Ponmi inmediatly falls in love with him but Ragatha too, causing the two to start competing for his love. The boy tells Jax that he would like to play the new GTA VI. Pomni hears this and and goes straight to buy it and gives it to him as a gift, but then Ragatha arrives and not only brings GTA VI, but the entire collection of the franchise. Then as the new boy and Jax play it, turns out he's getting hungry, which Pomni hears this once again and goes to prepare him some delicious cookies. Sadly, Ragatha had gone ahead and gave him a whole feast to eat. Pomni, now felt that she had definitely lost this boy's attention and Ragatha had won it. Fortunately, the boy notices that Pomni is sad and immediately goes to comfort her. A very happy ending for Ponmi.

The copypasta started gaining notoriety in the months since. On February 27, 2024, X user @Tirabaki reuploaded Mr Dracuss's video and later posted the first instance of the copypasta that same day.^[4] On April 7, 2024, X user @Aradir posted a snippet from the copypasta (shown below), amassing 13 thousand views and more than 500 likes.

On April 28, YouTube user @Zafir0Xs^[5] uploaded an AI song cover of Mexican president Andrés Manuel López Obrador singing the copypasta (shown below, left). On May 26, TikTok user @moonx.×14^[6] repuploaded a video remix by @shotoxnao._ showing Bad Bunny singing the copypasta under the caption "Bad Bunny if he released good music" (shown below, right).

Creator's identity

On April 20, 2026, user Amilcaat uploaded to his social media a 3D map from the Hornstromp video (shown below, left). Six days later, Amilcaat posted a follow-up video (shown below, right) revealing the character's original name is Pomne and was originally to be called "Pomno". On TikTok and Instagram, the first video gained over 2.9 millon views and 445,000 views on each respective sites whereas the second video gained over 1.7 millon views and 364,000 views over the course of two months.^[7][8]
