Overview

CallMeCarson Grooming Allegations refers to accusations of grooming and sexting minors put against YouTuber CallMeCarson by two members of the Lunch Club podcast. The sexting allegations were later confirmed with screenshots of Discord conversations between CallMeCarson and other users, with CallMeCarson revealed having sexted two of his viewers when they were 17 years old and he was 19 years old.

Background

On January 4th, 2021, YouTuber[1] KEEMSTAR uploaded a DramaAlert interview with Travis and Hugbox, who both members of the now-defunct Lunch Club[2] podcast that also included CallMeCarson. In the interview, Hugbox stated that in March 2020 CallMeCarson told him and other members of Lunch club that sexted underage girls who were his fans.



One day in March he called me, shortly before he told Travis – everybody was up in L.A. and he told most of them face to face – but he called me. I picked up the phone, and he was like, "I have to tell you something." And then he told me that he sexted underage girls and I think that he said that they were fans.[…]
A part of why I remained so quiet about it for so long is because I was genuinely hoping that he was going to just walk away for a little bit and get himself right. I have no idea [if he is still doing this].

Developments

Later on January 4th, 2020, Twitter user @miniborb made a series of tweets[4] in which she claimed that she was groomed by CallMeCarson when she was 17 years old, attaching several screenshots of their Discord conversations.

On January 5th, streamer JOKO tweeted[5] a video showing a Discord chat in which CallMeCarson admitted to sexting and trading nudes with two of his viewers that were 17 years old at the time when he was 19 years old (video and screenshots shown below).

Online Reactions

Following the interview, "Carson" became the top Twitter trend in the United States and the 8th top trend worldwide.[3]

On January 5th, the allegations became a viral subject of discussions of the platform, with some users accusing CallMeCarson of exploitative behavior towards minors and others defending him through pointing out the two-year age difference between Carson and his alleged victims (examples shown below, top row). Additionally, on that day, multiple users posted tweets in which they humorously reacted to the reason CallMeCarson was trending on Twitter and made jokes about the future of his YouTube career (examples shown below, bottom row).

To be fair, that's 2 years of age difference, and at that age you are fucking stupid, don't get me wrong, is still an awful thing to do, but when I first read it I thought he was doing it NOW and to very young girls.
Basically, I don't think this makes him a pedo like some people are claiming.

So Carson's friends said he told them he sexted "underage girls" but never told them the age, and the only proof we got was a 17 year old, still shitty, but 17 is not fucking grooming. I knew full well what I was doing sexually at that age despite the age of consent laws.

He shouldn't have done it, there are so many fucking 18 year olds out there whats the point, but still, unless there is proof he was doing this to younger kids I wouldn't consider this grooming.

There is this mishmash of real pedos like lionmaker and then overblown bullshit like what they did to pyrocynical. Twitter detectives are the fucking worst.
