James Charles and Evan Johnson Relationship Rumor refers to viral speculation that American makeup artist, entrepreneur and YouTuber James Charles is in a relationship with influencer Evan Johnson, who was booked on a charge of alleged domestic assault against his ex-girlfriend Kayla Malec in mid-April 2025. The rumors began spreading on TikTok and X / Twitter in late April 2025 after videos and leaked audios suggested that Charles hosted Evan Johnson at his house earlier this year after Kayla came out on a livestream about the abuse accusations. TikTokers posted videos related to the rumor en masse as it spread, inspiring reactions, memes and investigations into their relationship online.

On April 11th, 2025, TikToker[1] Zack Sellars posted a video related to Kayla Malec and Evan Johnson's domestic violence allegations, claiming he knows a "big influencer" who purportedly helped and hosted Johnson in his Los Angeles house while the influencer was being investigated for assaulting[3] his former girlfriend, Malec. The video (seen below) amassed more than 297,000 plays and 5,700 likes in a month.

On April 13th, 2025, Sellars then posted a video to TikTok[2] revealing that James Charles was the alleged "big influencer" helping Johnson during the domestic violence accusations against him, saying that Charles knew "what that man done to her [Kayla]." The video (seen below) received over 16,000 likes in a month.

On April 30th, 2025, Australian TikToker[4] @mikaelatesta posted a video alleging James Charles is sleeping with Evan Johnson, saying, "the one that broke Kayla Malec's jaw." The video quickly amassed over 24 million plays and 3 million likes in three days (seen below).

Although the influencer had previously mentioned via Instagram[5] about Charles housing Johnson in his LA home, her video gained significant attention on TikTok, prompting others to comment on the subject, including the influencer @bee.better.company,[6] who shared an exclusive interview with Zack Sellars on May 1st, 2025.
During the interview, Sellars claims that James and Evan had intercourse and alleges to have proof Charles knew Evan was an "abuser and then pursued a sexual relationship with him afterward," as the presenter suggests. The full interview (seen below) garnered roughly 1.2 million plays and 106,000 likes in a day.
