Spread

On September 5th, 2025, TikTok^[2] user @greenscreenmemes.com posted a green-screen CapCut template featuring the clip of the angry dog. The video received over 1 million views and 17,400 likes in less than one year, facilitating its spread on the platform as users edited it into various scenes for different situational jokes.

On November 18th, 2025, TikTok^[3] user @evildogi uploaded a video utilizing the template, which received over 176,800 views and 10,900 likes in less than six months.

The meme also spread to Instagram as it continued to see widespread adoption and usage on social media, which continued into 2026.

For example, on May 10th, 2026, the Instagram^[4] account @evildogi posted a Reel making a joke about acting surprised when people say they're scared to talk to them because they look mean, garnering over 54,000 views and 2,750 likes in 24 hours.
