About

FandelTales is an adult Flash animation video series created by Derpixon. The first entry in the series, "FandelTales – The First Party," was published to Newgrounds in July 2018. A sequel titled "FandelTales: The Cursed Prince" was teased in March 2022 and released the same month. FandelTales is a fantasy series that takes inspiration from roleplaying games like Dungeons and Dragons.

Origin

On July 10th, 2018, animator Derpixon, known best for his adult animations, posted a fantasy-based, 12-minute long animation titled "FandelTales – The First Party" to Newgrounds,^[1] gaining over 5.6 million views in four years. He also an SFW teaser for the animation on YouTube,^[2] gaining over 449,000 views in the same span of time (shown below). Derpixon also posted a premium FandelTales pack to Gumroad,^[6] allowing fans to pay $15 for exclusive concept art, wallpapers, emotes and a scene viewer.

"FandelTales – The First Party" inspired a variety of fan art, both SFW and NSFW, following its release. On August 21st, 2018, the creator of the animation Derpixon posted a piece of art based on the animation to Newgrounds,^[4] gaining over 44,000 views in four years (shown below, left). On December 14th, Newgrounds^[5] user Darkminou posted art of the character Ben from the animation, gaining an average of 4.4/5 stars in four years (shown below, right). Derpixon gave an interview about the animation to Doujins.com^[7] shortly after its release.

On February 28th, 2022, TikToker @_spooky_1.0 posted a stylized edit of some FandelTales fan art, gaining over 2.4 million views in two weeks (shown below).

FandelTales: The Cursed Prince

On March 7th, 2022, Derpixon released a trailer for the sequel to "FandelTales – The First Party," titled, "FandelTales: The Cursed Prince," to YouTube,^[3] gaining over 94,400 views in a week (shown below). The video teases a release date of March 18th and comes in at 17-minutes long.

On March 18th, FandelTales: The Cursed Prince released on Newgrounds,^[8] gaining over 1.1 million views in three days. A safe-for-work preview of the animation was also uploaded to Derpixon's YouTube^[9] channel, gaining over 100,000 views in the same span of time (shown below). The animation follows a prince who enters a town to fight a succubus-like demon that's been killing the villagers. The demon, named Herzha the shapeshifter, takes the form of women and tricks men into approaching her so she can kill them.

The animation inspired fan art and memes, much of it depicting Herzha. On March 19th, Twitter^[10] user @LunaticmoonArt posted a piece of artwork depicting Herzha, gaining over 2,000 likes and 170 retweets in two days (shown below, left). On March 20th, Twitter^[11] user @iqo_zoid posted a Friendship Ended With Mudasir meme referencing another Derpixon animation, "Mime and Dash,": gaining over 320 likes in a day (shown below, right).
