Party Games is a Flash animation video made for the site Newgrounds by the creator Derpixon in 2019. The video is adult-oriented in nature, though a Safe For Work version was made and uploaded to YouTube as well.

Origin

On November 9th, 2019, Derpixon uploaded the video to Newgrounds,^[1] where it quickly became another massive hit for the creator after previous entries of "Persona 5: HeartSwitch" and "FandelTales." The video itself involves four girls being in a party atmosphere and agreeing to play a popular party game called Chubby Bunny in which the aim of the game is to stuff a marshmallow bunny into your mouth, say "chubby bunny" and continue on until you are the one left standing with the most marshmallows in your mouth, though in the video they say "stuffy bunny" instead of "chubby bunny." In the NSFW version, failing the challenge is met with a drastically different outcome than in the SFW version. On November 9th, 2019, the official Derpixon^[2] YouTube channel uploaded the SFW version of the video, where it gained 1.3 million views in two years (shown below).

Still images from the video have been used in single and multi-panel memes similar to "moments taken before disaster," with the earliest example being a template posted to the subreddit^[3] /r/MemeEconomy on July 31st, 2020, by Redditor^[4] Dinilj, gaining only 16 upvotes in two years. This template uses the character Fiona being overshadowed by two buff-looking bunnymen (shown below).

Spread

On August 18th, 2020, the Redditor^[5] submitted a meme template that uses the character Valentine from the animation in a similar way to the Fiona template, except this one shows the character is smiling and naïve as to what is about to happen, earning 100 upvotes in one year (shown below).

A different template, this time using the character Mari in a still image from earlier in the video, was uploaded to the subreddit^[6] /r/dndmemes by Phoenix08 on August 8th, 2021, gaining 8,300 upvotes in one month (shown below).

On September 11th, 2021, another meme template using the final character Sunny was posted to the subreddit /r/memes by Redditor^[7] A-Mangled-Mess, with a similar expression to the Mari template, earning 22,600 upvotes in 11 days (shown below).
