About

First Buddy is an informal title given to billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk following reports that he was hanging out with President-elect Donald Trump consistently following his November 2024 presidential reelection. The term was coined by CNN correspondent Gloria Borger and was embraced by Musk, who commented on a video of CNN discussing Musk and Trump's relationship, "I’m happy to be first buddy! 😂." The term inspired discourse in mid-November 2024, including mockery and memes, aimed at Elon Musk.

Jack Califano @jackcalifano I think he might actually be the biggest loser in human history Mr. Musk, often with his 4-year-old son X on his lap, has spent most of the last week at Mar-a-Lago, joining not just interviews but almost every meeting and many meals that Mr. Trump has had. He briefly shuttled back to Austin, Texas, where he has a $35 million compound, before returning on Friday, where he ate in Mar- a-Lago's dining room and on its patio, roamed the gift shop and spent time on the golf course all alongside the president- elect. "I'm happy to be the first buddy!" he replied to a social-media follower this weekend. 10:20 AM - Nov 13, 2024 3.2M Views
