Girl Frisking Pose refers to a photograph of a girl frisking another girl in front of her car while holding a gun. The photo grew popular on Twitter / X in early July 2024 as in inspired redraws, usually featuring animated, yuri couples or ships.

Origin

On May 13th, 2024, Instagram^[1] user @why1993_ uploaded photos of herself with @yuanyuan.sayuki doing various poses in front of a car, including one where it appears as though she is frisking her. The post received more than 11,900 likes in three months. On July 6th, 2024, Twitter / X^[2] user @nyxxmph reposted the "frisking" photo with the caption, "so what if u guys drew ur yuri couples like this………" The post received more than 4,900 reposts and 24,000 likes in one month (shown below).

Spread

Starting in late July 2024, the photo grew popular among artists on Twitter / X as a reference for redraw memes. For example, on July 26th, 2024, Twitter / X^[3] user @oKuMadeChan uploaded fan art of Clorinde and Navia from Genshin Impact. The post received over 1,100 reposts and 13,000 likes in two weeks (shown below, left). On the next day, Twitter / X^[4] user @LezissmiT uploaded fan art of Rahu and Shalom from Path to Nowhere. The post received over 3,200 reposts and 28,000 likes in two weeks (shown below, right).

On July 29th, 2024, Twitter / X^[5] user @SeOL__________ uploaded fan art of Topaz and Jade from Honkai Star Rail. The post received over 2,900 reposts and 26,000 likes in one week (shown below, left). On the next day, Twitter / X^[6] user @CYMK_8 uploaded Baldur's Gate 3 fan art that received more than 3,600 reposts and 31,000 likes in one week (shown below, right).
