About

Haci Como Escuchaste or Así Como Escuchaste refers to a sarcastic expression used by the Spanish-speaking community, which translates to "Just like you heard." The phrase, which purposely misspells "Haci" of the Spanish word "Así," is often associated with an image macro of Green M&M seated on a couch, and the pairing is used as a reaction image by people sharing embarrassing situations and dealing with an unwavering and over-confident attitude. The meme was popularized around November 2022 on Facebook and Twitter.

Origin

On November 15th, 2022, Twitter[1] user @_alejandrawho posted her reaction to presenting a bad school project. The meme was used to display an over-confident student's reaction, as she used a sexy version of Green M&M with the overlay text in Spanish "Haci Como Escuchaste," which translates as "Just like you heard." The post (seen below) garnered 76,000 likes and 9,900 retweets in seven months.

TikTok[3] users have been using the image macro as a template with ironic overlay texts. For example, on January 31st, 2023, user @hoppiew posted the meme and added the lyrics of the K-pop song "Ditto" by New Jeans. The post (seen below, left) received 1,300 plays and 234 likes in five months. On April 17th, 2023, TikTok[4] user @tomasdmaino posted a video imaging how the meme would sound if it was real. The video (seen below, right) garnered 1,620 plays and 48 likes in one month.

"Haci" is an intentional misspelling of the spanish word "Así" (Ah-see)
Given this, the meme is actually meant to say "Just like you heard" in a smug display of confidence.
(The image example displays an interaction in which a teacher is confused over an awful class presentation, only for the student to reply with "haci como lo escuchaste" meaning "Just like you heard")
I see this article mistakenly interpreted the misspelling "haci" as "Hice" wich means "I did" but that wouldn't make sense in the context of the memes and is mostly wrong.
I just figured I did the correction idk if i can edit I don't think so
