The Hayley Sinclair Funeral Pubes Fiasco, also known as Woman Shaving Her Pubes on Funeral Zoom Call, refers to a viral video of a woman, purportedly named Hayley Sinclair, seemingly shaving her pubic hair in the shower while on a Zoom call during a funeral unaware that her camera is on. The video spread on Twitter / X and Reddit in March 2024 after it was widely shared on WhatsApp.

Origin

Sometime on or before March 18th, 2024, a video was widely circulated on WhatsApp showing a woman who'd left her camera on during a funeral Zoom call, during which she was in the shower and shaving her body.

On March 18th, X^[1][2] user @VideosSick posted photos, videos and screenshots from WhatsApp. The post also included a screenshot of a Facebook photo from a woman named Hayley Sinclair, purported to be the woman in the video. Over two days, the primary tweet gained roughly 7,400 likes (censored screenshot shown below).

Spread

@VideosSick's post received quotes and replies going into late March 2024. For instance, X^[3] user @PotnoodIefringe quoted the post with a screenshot of a man watching the funeral, captioned, "Mike Dixon was based 🤣," earning over 100 likes in two days (shown below, left).

On March 19th, 2024, X^[4] user @whatwewitnessed reposted the contents of @VideosSick's post. The post was later deleted, however, a screenshot was shared by X^[5] user @BromigosPod on March 19th, showing that it had amassed over 4.3 million views and 19,000 likes in less than a day (shown below, right).

Also on March 19th, Instagram^[6] user @no_context_hans posted a Reel that joked about the video, using a scene from the British comedy series Peep Show, gaining over 1,300 likes in a day (shown below).

Discourse about the fiasco also surfaced on Reddit's /r/OutOfTheLoop when Redditor^[7] Marmalade_flesh_ asked, "What's up with the funeral pubes fiasco?" on March 19th, 2024, receiving over 310 upvotes in a day.
