Hi Herbert refers to a viral video of a small cat being addressed before letting out a small yell. The video has been widely remixed since it was first posted to Reddit in May of 2020.
Origin
On May 6th, 2020,[1] Reddit user mingledacorn13 posted a video titled "Herbert wants attention!!" to /r/catswhoyell, gaining over 7,300 points.

Spread
The video was reposted to YouTube on May 14th, 2020 by YouTuber GrilledFritos, gaining over 125,000 views (shown below, left). On May 18th, 2020, YouTuber Da Noodle posted the first remix of the clip, gaining over 30,000 views (shown below, right).
Over the following months, dozens of more remixes appeared on Youtube. For example, on June 23rd, 2020, YouTuber Elliot Sullivan posted a compilation of remixes that gained over 30,000 views (shown below, left). On July 10th, YouTuber ZiggyTv posted a compilation that gained over 5,400 views (shown below, right).
