I Had Nothing But Lewd Things On My Mind is a quote associated with a panel from the hentai manga Cast Aoi, in which the main character is overwhelmed with sexual thoughts. This panel became the basis for humoristic redraws and edits, often with a wholesome twist.

Origin

Sanagi Torajirou drew and published Cast Aoi in 2012. In one scene of chapter 4, published on August 6th, after weeks of sexual training by a classmate, the heroine finds herself incapable on focusing on her tasks, her mind drifting on perverted thoughts that fill the background of a panel (see below).

The earliest fan art inspired by this panel dates from early February 2013 from an unknown website, and is an edit featuring a drawing of My Little Pony character Fluttershy by sung_and_ama (see below).

In the years following the panel's publication, it has inspired numerous memes. The memes use various versions of the heroine's speech, depending on the English translation of reference, but*"I had nothing but lewd things on my mind" is the most popular.

In humorous edits of the panel, the "heroine" still says she is thinking "lewd" thoughts, but is depicted thinking innocent and romantic thoughts. The earliest wholesome edit of this meme comes from Twitter artist The Shoe,^[1] who on October 25th, 2019, posted a redraw featuring princess Zelda from Breath Of The Wild. This post gained over 4,500 retweets and 21,300 likes.

On December 19th, 2019, a deleted Redditor in the subreddit /r/RWBY^[2] posted a variation that gained over 2,800 points in five years.
