I'd Sell You To Satan For One Corn Chip refers to a painting of a bird by Matt Adrian captioned "I'd sell you to Satan for one corn chip," originally published in the 2012 comedy artbook The Mincing Mockingbird Guide To Troubled Birds, which features similar pieces of art showing Troubled Birds with captions that paint them as aggressive and angry. The image spread online over the following years and became the subject of image macros, typically used as a reaction to show hatred.

On March 8th, 2012, Matt Adrian of The Mincing Mockingbird,[1] a husband-wife artist duo that sells original products, books and art pieces mostly based around birds, published The Mincing Mockingbird Guide To Troubled Birds, a comedy art book that includes original paintings of troubled birds with aggressive captions attached. One of these images shows a bird with the caption "I'd sell you to satan for one corn chip" (shown below). On January 10th, 2013, Tumblr[2] user mercerism shared a number of images from the book including the corn chip bird, gaining over 105,000 notes and helping spread the image.

On March 12th, 2015, Tumblr[3] user stephanievex posted "when someone says, 'Oh, shut up, you know you love me!':" along with the image, joking that they truly hate the person (shown below). The post went viral, gaining over a million notes in six months. A screenshot of the post, as well as recreations of it with the same caption, spread across social media throughout 2015, including popular posts on iFunny[4] and Facebook.[5]

The image slowly started to see use in new image macros and memes over the following year. A screenshot of the meme was reposted to Instagram[9] by @bts.bangtonboys, gaining over 7,000 likes in a similar span of time.
