I'm So Fucking Scared refers to a reaction image from season 1 of the South Korean Netflix show Squid Game, showing the character Ali Abdul with tears in his eyes and an all-caps text caption reading, "I'm so fucking scared." The image was one of the Squid Game Edit Reaction Images, including other stills from Squid Game TikTok and YouTube edits like Oh My God Bruh and I'm Fucked.

Origin

On October 15th, 2021, TikToker^[1] @kakmneploho posted a Squid Game edit, using a scene from season 1 showing the characters Ali Abdul and Cho Sang-woo set to the acoustic version of the song "IDFC" by Blackbear.^[2] The chosen lyrics were, "I act like I don't fucking care, 'cause I'm so fucking scared." The edit gained over 1,500 likes in four years (shown below).

At the video's 5-second mark, all-caps text reading, "Cause I'm so fucking scared," is shown over Ali Abdul's face.

On July 11th, 2025, X^[3] user @thinkinfaist tweeted a cropped screenshot from the edit, showing Ali Abdul's tearful face and the caption, "I'm so fucking scared," gaining over 320 likes in a month (shown below). The tweet is currently the first known upload of the image online.

On July 23rd, 2025, X^[4] user @wildotmeow tweeted the image in a reply to their own tweet, gaining over 1,600 likes in a month.

On July 25th, X^[5] user @Transfematthias tweeted the image, captioning it, "Me when the hunter [teleports] to the gate as I'm decoding it," gaining over 2,700 likes in three weeks (shown below).

On July 30th, 2025, X^[6] user @thejames103 tweeted the image, captioning it, "Lost 8 strands of hair in the shower," gaining over 76,000 likes in two weeks (shown below).

On August 5th, X^[7] user @Hydrocit2 tweeted the original TikTok edit that the I'm So Fucking Scared image was sourced from, captioning it, "HOLY SHIT I FOUND IT." Over eight days, the post gained roughly 26,000 likes (shown below).

On August 7th, 2025, X^[8] user @schwobgoblin used the I'm So Fucking Scared image as a reaction to seeing the start of The Coffin of Andy and Leyley pixel art on the Wplace map, gaining over 181,000 likes in six days (shown below).
