The earliest known upload of the scene to YouTube was shared by the channel MomoFlaesk on March 8th, 2012, uploaded under the title "Cartman Raging." The video received over 253,000 views, 3,000 likes and 280 comments in 14 years.

The earliest known GIF of the scene was then uploaded to Tenor^[1] by an unknown user on September 23rd, 2016, depicting a black-and-white looping GIF of Eric Cartman shaking the lunch table with the caption, "I Am So Sick Of This Fucking School!!!" at the bottom.

On September 17th, 2021, the official South Park Tenor^[2] account then uploaded a color version of the GIF.

Over the following years, the GIF of Eric Cartman from South Park continued to see sporadic use as a reaction meme online, becoming a component of various brainrot edits and other memes on TikTok in the mid-2020s.

On April 9th, 2023, TikTok^[3] user sourth10081 posted a sludge content edit using the scene alongside a mobile game of swords slicing through various objects, garnering over 35,000 views, 910 likes and 10 comments in three years.

On October 25th, 2023, TikToker^[4] southpxrk.kenny used the format in a meme joking about them being in school for an absurdly short amount of time, receiving over 363,100 likes and 1,740 comments in three years.

In late September 2026, the scene became the source of numerous funk and phonk remixes on TikTok, as well as brainrot edits and memes about hating school.

For example, on September 23rd, 2026, TikTok^[5] user jaydenuhhh1 posted an edit of the scene, referencing the Sparta Remix meme in their description, garnering over 82,700 likes and 1,410 comments in six days.

On September 24th, TikToker^[6] polska_5520 shared another edit of the meme, turning it into a song, receiving roughly 570 likes and 20 comments in five days.

On September 28th, 2026, TikTok^[7] user foursitofoursito posted another funkified edit of the scene alongside an Alight Motion animation, garnering over 6,670 likes and 360 comments in a day.

That same day, TikToker^[8] kai.hale4 created another meme using the clip alongside other scenes of Eric Cartman to show which periods in school made them happy or angry, garnering over 11,900 likes and 120 comments in a day.
