I'm Your Idiot Forever is a redraw meme template based on a scene from The Big Bang Theory in which the character Bernadette, on a video call wither her husband Howard, calls him an idiot, resulting in him showing her his wedding band and saying, "I'm your idiot forever." The scene first became the subject of redraws in 2015 and gained viral spread over the following years.

Origin

On December 13th, 2012, The Big Bang Theory season six episode 11 aired, titled "The Santa Simulation." At one point in the episode, Bernadette, talking with her husband Howard over a video call, calls him an idiot. He responds, "I'm your idiot. Forever," and shows off his wedding band (shown below).

On August 1st, 2014, the @9GAG X^[1] page posted the scene as a meme, garnering over 1,400 likes in 10 years (shown below, left). On April 9th, 2015, Weasyl.com^[2] user tigerlilylucky posted a Pokemon-themed meme referencing the scene, garnering over 800 views in nine years (shown below, right). This is the earliest known meme based on the scene.

Spread

Redraws of the scene became increasingly popular over the following years. On July 8th, 2021, u/raveenbikha posted a redraw of the scene to /r/wholesomeyuri^[3] featuring streamer Gawr Gura, garnering over 6,000 upvotes in three years (shown below, left). On October 15th, u/Alem_97 posted another redraw of the scene to /r/wholesomeyuri^[4] based on Genshin Impact, garnering over 2,900 upvotes in the same span of time (shown below, right).

On March 20th, 2024, Tumblr^[5] user shima-draws posted a One Piece redraw of the meme imagining Luffy being married to Sanji, garnering over 2,500 notes in a week (shown below).
