The meme was first posted to Twitter in March 2021 and inspired variations over the next year.

The earliest known version of the meme was posted by Twitter^[1] user @bigsouptime on March 2nd, 2021, garnering roughly 30 likes in a year (shown below). It is unclear if this is the first time it was posted.

Spread

On March 3rd, 2021, a version of the meme with an additional bottom panel showing Meme Man saying "Erodynamiks" was posted to /r/memes,^[2] garnering over 39,000 upvotes in a year (shown below). It was reposted by Instagram^[3] user vibingtomemes the next day, garnering over 18,300 likes in a year.

On April 13th, Redditor gmorgan99 posted a version of the meme to /r/memes^[4] using an image of doge, garnering over 56,000 upvotes in a year (shown below, left). It was reposted to Instagram^[5] on April 17th, garnering over 5,000 likes in a year. On April 19th, Instagram^[6] user destinynoob posted a Destiny meme using the format, garnering over 4,400 likes in a year. On November 19th, Instagram^[7] user marshmallowthehoggie posted a meme using the catchphrase over an image of a snake, garnering over 6,900 likes in 10 months (shown below, right).

On September 22nd, 2022, Tumblr^[8] user arcshikisaybah posted a version of the meme using Nero Claudius from Fate, garnering roughly 50 notes in under a day (shown below).
