Keep Up Dance is a dancing trend on TikTok set to the 2024 EDM song "Keep Up" by Odetari. Originally popularized in mid-2024, the song and dance trend quickly took off online with many people trying to emulate it and add their own spin on the dance moves. The audio itself also started to see usage in memes with people using the lyrics and beat change to create meme edits.
Origin
On July 17th, 2024, American rapper Odetari uploaded the "official visualizer" video for his song "Keep Up" to his official YouTube channel, receiving over 12 million views, 385,000 likes and 18,600 comments in two months (seen below).
On August 1st, 2024, the dance-oriented TikToker vibewitkkayla_[1] uploaded herself dancing to the song "Keep Up" from Odetari. In the TikTok, she can be seen doing introductory hand moves before having both hands diagonally in the 1 and 7 positions before switching it to 11 and 5 and continuing on with other motions, earning over 939,000 likes in three months (shown below).

The TikTok audio,[2] which was used over 1 million times in three months on various remixes and TikToks on the platform, started to see usage as a background song for different types of memes as it continued spreading online in late 2024.
For example, on September 4th, 2024, the wolf-themed TikToker wolpwednesday[3] uploaded a TikTok in which they used a variety of image macros and videos of wolves to emulate the lyrics in the song as an example of different applications for the background audio, earning over 1.8 million likes in one month (shown below).

The dance quickly took off on the platform, with thousands of examples being made over the next two months.
On September 17th, 2024, the most viral example of the dance trend was uploaded by TikToker garybrotherson.[4] In his TikTok, Gary can be seen performing the dance in a rapid motion before adding his own dance moves at the end, earning over 8.2 million likes in one month (shown below).
