About
Leanna Perry Plane Incident, also known as Woman Causes Scene On Southwest Airlines, refers to a viral video featuring a woman identified as New York-based artist Leanna Perry having a public freakout on a Southwest Airlines plane leaving from LaGuardia Airport in New York to Kansas City in mid-June 2025. In a video first posted to TikTok early on June 17th, the dark-haired woman can be seen lashing out at her fellow passenger, whom she calls a "fat ass bitch," before grabbing the passenger by her hair. Southwest Airlines attendants and fellow passengers can be seen trying to restrain an increasingly incoherent Perry and trying to get her to release the woman's hair. The video was originally posted by TikToker @leahkay1010 and reposted on sites like Twitter / X and Instagram in subsequent days. Tabloids like the New York Post uncovered Perry's name soon after the story went viral, identifying her as a New York City-based visual artist who has worked with brands like Maybelline and Betsey Johnson.

Also on June 17th, Redditor /u/Sonialove8 reposted the second TikTok[5] originally posted by @leahkay1010 to the subreddit /r/SouthwestAirlines,[6] gathering over 1,000 upvotes in three days. The video shows Leanna Perry lying on the aisle between the seats with her hands zip-tied behind her back, now attempting to kick the lady she had previously attacked.

Redditor[7] /u/Ace-Cuddler gave a recap of the three videos to /r/PublicFreakout, as transcribed below:
In the first one, the lady with the red cap seems to be complaining that she paid $250 dollars for her seat and that she doesn’t want to have to touch the seated lady’s ass (“Do you think this is worth $250 dollars? … I’m sorry. There’s like – I’m like not touching this girl’s ass”). Then, she pulls out her phone to take a video of the ass (“Look, look. … F*ck it. Whatever. I’ll just take a video.”)
The second and third videos are similar to the one that I posted, except they were recorded from behind the girl with the red cap.
You can also watch a follow up video (from @leahkay1010 on TikTok) posted here on the PublicFreakout subreddit that shows the red cap girl complaining that she can’t breathe. So, they lay her down in the aisle, where she quickly starts to kick her feet towards the people around her.
Finally, in the last video from @amandawetterer, a group of police officers escort red cap lady, who is restrained on a gurney, away from the plane.

The article also delved into her background, claiming that she is from the "quaint" Midwest city of Lee's Summit, Missouri, and described her life in New York City as that of a "privileged" artist.

The article also reported that Leanna Perry deleted her LinkedIn and Instagram[14] and set her Twitter / X[13] account to private after she was contacted for a comment on the Southwest Airlines incident. Perry's professional work with brands like Betsey Johnson and Adidas can be accessed on her Behance[12] account.
