Living Books Arthur Dancing is an exploitable animated GIF taken from the intro screen of the 1992 interactive CD-Rom storybook Arthur's Teacher Trouble. The GIF is often used to show Arthur dancing to various music.

Origin

The GIF comes from the interactive storybook CD-Rom Arthur's Teacher Trouble, which was released by Living Books on October 1st, 1992.[1] At the main menu of the storybook, Arthur does a variety of dances, one of which he has a derp-eyed expression and does the twist (shown below).

On September 2nd, 2013, Tumblr user fuckyeah-pixels[2] posted an animated GIF of Arthur dancing from the Living Books intro. The GIF (shown below) received over 2,500 likes and over 4,700 reblogs in eleven years.

On October 16th, 2016, Tumblr user plasticdecor[3] posted a video which uses the GIF of Arthur dancing to the Tom Tom Club song Genius of Love. The video (shown below) received over 20,000 likes and over 19,000 reblogs in eight years.

On October 22nd, 2018, YouTube user TheHatClub[4] posted a video in which Arthur is dancing to music from the videogame Earthbound. The video (shown below) received over 63,000 views in six years.
