On December 11th, 2024, TikToker[1] @yohanhefner posted a slideshow video consisting of a picture of two men standing on the sidewalk making prayer hands under the caption, "Lord take me and whoever's reading this, we ready," garnering over 800,000 views in two months.
On December 12th, X[2] user @stqrizu posted a screenshot of the video with two comments made on the video attached reading, "HOLD ON BRO I AIN'T READY" and "I DON'T KNOW YOU DAWG," garnering over 204,000 likes and 15,000 reposts in two months.

The image became the subject of redraws and edits over the following weeks. For example, on December 15th, 2024, X[3] user @punchingmoths posted a redraw based on Undertale that garnered over 1,700 likes in two months.
On December 17th, X[4] user @yujiglow posted a version of the meme attaching the same comments and caption to an image from JuJutsu Kaisen, garnering over 7,100 likes in the same span of time.
On December 19th, 2024, Tumblr[5] user obstinaterixatrix posted a version of the meme referencing Into the Spider-Verse, garnering over 4,800 notes in two months.
