Mi Mug Tea or My Mug Tea is a slang term meaning "my face tea," often associated with a meme of an Illumination-style, Despicable Me OC character named Teresa created by editing Lucy Wilde to have black hair, a blue dress and long nails. Purportedly, the character was originally posted by TikToker @marttwpz's along with a variation of the caption, "My mug tea."
The term "mi mug," and memes using the term alongside images of the character, who is now also known as Mi Mug, were popularized on sites including TikTok and X / Twitter in late June 2026. Prior to this, in 2020, the image purportedly inspired a wave of Despicable Me OC character memes
Origin
According to commenters under several 2026 videos related to the "Mi Mug Tea" meme, the image of Lucy Wilde with black hair, a blue dress and long nails was first posted by now-private TikToker[1] @marttwpz sometime in 2020 with a caption reading, "My mug tea." The character was posted as a Despicable Me OC character, and purportedly inspired a trend among Spanish-speaking TikTokers where they would post Despicable Me OCs. This has not been confirmed, but is frequently mentioned when someone asks for the context of the meme.

One of the earliest known videos to revive the meme is an edit of "Mi Mug" and Despicable Me related videos and images posted by TikToker[2] @delta.aa on June 10th, 2026, garnering over 382,000 views in two weeks.

On June 18th, 2026, TIkToker[3] @chrlv.edits posted a meme edit based on Mi Mug, garnering over 1.2 million views in four days.

On June 19th, X[4] user @mockucentury posted an image of Kurapika from Hunter x Hunter with long nails and an image of Teresa, writing, "it's been long enough that 2020 just looped back around and tiktok decided this was funny again," garnering over 48,000 likes in three days.
On June 21st, TikToker[5] @vxdispo posted a video where, in Roblox, he explains a fictional version of the meme's history to another player, garnering over 182,000 views in a day.

Some examples of the meme simply involve editing Mi Mug, aka Teresa, to change her overall look or outfit. For example, an edit by TikToker[6] @sristea24 of Teresa as Izuru Kamukura from Danganronpa, which gained over 64,000 views in about three days.
