Mighty Eagle is a bird character from the Angry Birds video game series and The Angry Birds Movie, depicted as a grumpy bald eagle with an oversized beak and bushy eyebrows.

Mighty Eagle was introduced in the first iteration of Angry Birds on iOS, released on December 11th, 2009. He later appeared in The Angry Birds Movie, released on May 20th, 2016. In one notable scene, the character Chuck sees a statue of Mighty Eagle posing, launching into a 2D-animated fantasy sequence about how muscular and powerful Chuck assumes Mighty Eagle to be.

The character became the subject of memes, fan art and edits on social media throughout the 2020s. Much of the content surrounding Mighty Eagle suggests that he is physically attractive. Image macro style edits and memes using Mighty Eagle's scenes from The Angry Birds Movie saw a boost in virality on TikTok in mid-2026.

On December 11th, 2009, Angry Birds was released on iOS. One of the game's characters is Mighty Eagle, a powerful, grumpy-looking bird who is summoned by throwing a sardine. When summoned, Mighty Eagle causes significant destruction to the pigs and their structures.

Mighty Eagle appeared in numerous pieces of Angry Birds media in the 2000s, including The Angry Birds Movie, released on May 20th, 2016. His introductory scene has the character Chuck fantasize about Mighty Eagle's strength and physique after seeing a statue of him. However, when Mighty Eagle actually appears, he has let himself go.^[1]

Mighty Eagle's scenes became the increasing subject of memes throughout 2026, including edits on sites like Instagram Reels and TikTok. Memes surrounding Mighty Eagle saw a significant boost in virality in June 2026, surrounding reports that he would return in The Angry Birds Movie 3.^[3]

On January 9th, 2026, Instagram^[4] user clips posted a meme using a scene where Mighty Eagle looks off his cliff through binoculars, garnering over 237,000 likes in six months.

On June 20th, TikToker^[5] @hirsch_tyler101 posted a meme using footage of Mighty Eagle that gained over 1.3 million views in about two weeks.
