Misgendered Student Turns Violent Video, also known as Trans Florida Student Meltdown or Stop Misgendering Me Video, is a viral police bodycam and public freakout video depicting an encounter at the University of Central Florida (UCF) between law enforcement officers and a transgender college student, named Jay Lee or similar, identified in legal records under the name Jarrett Preston Vick, who became increasingly distressed after police repeatedly referred to Vick using male pronouns. On July 17th, 20206, YouTube^[1] channel Inside The Blue TV uploaded a video titled "Misgendered Student Turns Violent After Pronoun Dispute." The video, which runs approximately 10 minutes, features edited bodycam footage of a confrontation between police officers and a transgender student at the University of Central Florida (UCF). The incident took place on the UCF campus and involved officers responding to a disturbance before encountering the student, who was already visibly agitated and arguing with university security personnel.

In the bodycam footage, university employees refer to the student using she/her pronouns and a name that sounds like "Jay Lee," with variations such as "Jaylin" or "Jaylee." The exact spelling has not been confirmed, as the name is derived solely from the audio in the footage. The confrontation centers on Vick's objections to officers referring to her with male pronouns, who repeatedly demands that officers use she/her pronouns, shouting phrases such as "Just say the right pronoun!" and "SAY! SHE!" The video has received about 401,000 views in three days.

Others speculated over whether the video was real, or if it had been staged or AI-generated.

The video was quickly circulated and reposted on various social media platforms, where it was frequently framed as a "pronoun meltdown." Clips and reposts focused particularly on the student's repeated demands to be correctly gendered, contributing to the footage's spread.

On July 18th, X^[3] / Twitter user @ripx4nutmeg shared the footage to the platform, receiving over 8.1 million views and 62,000 likes in three days.

Later that day, the X^[4] account posted another follow-up related to the incident, garnering over 345,000 views and 6,000 likes in three days.

Also on July 18th, 2026, X^[5] user @ZeonsTopGuy quoted the original X post, sharing a segment of the footage with the caption, "Dawg I’m fucking losing my mind at this shit," which received over 1.4 million views and 16,000 likes in three days.

On July 19, 2026, X^[6] user @ginamilan_ shared a post about the incident, commenting, "We have a serious mental health crisis in this country," which received 1,822,271 views and 38,311 likes in two days.

The same day, a now-deleted Reddit^[7] post on the /r/4tran4^[7] subreddit titled "Wake up babes new optics nuke just dropped" discussed the incident as it continued spreading online.

On July 21, 2026, the X^[8] account of the New York Post (@nypost) shared a tweet about the incident, receiving over 3.9 million views and 21,410 likes in less than one day, reigniting interest in the incident.
