Origin
On January 23rd, 2018, Twitter user @RoflGandhi_[1] posted a picture of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi standing in a snow-covered landscape in Switzerland, sarcastically telling his followers "PMO has warned that no one should photoshop this pic in a funny or wicked way. Please don't do that and don't even dare to post your creativity in reply to this tweet. I wouldn't RT at all." His tweet gained over 350 retweets and 1,200 likes (shown below).

In response to @RoflGandhi_'s tweet, Twitter users began photoshopping the image of Modi to show the Prime Minister with various other characters and in various other situations. Twitter user @vickyntwr[2] posted an image of Modi amidst characters from Game of Thrones, gaining over 400 retweets (shown below, left). YouTuber @Badka_Bokrait[3] uploaded a short video of Modi standing next to a Confused Travolta, gaining over 350 retweets and 1,100 likes (shown below, right). The memes were covered by Twitter Moments[4] and Indian news outlet News18.[5]
