About
Oh That's Gore Of My Comfort Character is a catchphrase popularized in a series of memes in which images of someone's comfort character in a state of harm or death which resembles gore content but isn't often actual gore, are displayed next to the caption, "Oh that's gore of my comfort character. People feel the need to create gore of my comfort character because they hate him so much." The meme began as a version of the "Oh That's Real Nice" format in December 2023 and was popularized as a catchphrase in January 2024, most notably on X / Twitter.
Origin
On December 17th, 2023, X[1] user @Kap_Ka01 posted a GIF of Homelander being decapitated by Omni-Man. Later that day, X[2] user @EmmyBlubonic quote-reposted the GIF with a version of the "Oh That's Real Nice" meme that reads, "Oh that's gore of my comfort character. For additional context behind the meme, the poster, @EmmyBlubonic, wrote in the thread, "essentially the reason I made this was bc I thought this animation was made to coincide with the new wave of 'everyone solos homelander' jokes that I find annoying and unfunny." They continued:
"1. This isn't bait
2. The entire reason why I got my spintrest for the boys is due to omnilander
3. I don't mind gore of HL, just maybe not over and over again every other month
4. I have watched the show
5. Some who has an evil cc doesn't condone their actions
6. I don't think me saying HL is my cc warrants this type of response."
